A Scouted Wedding Story

Katie’s love for her community, and passion for supporting small businesses and local vendors was beautifully displayed as she planned her dream wedding.

Katie met Geoff in 2019. As their connection was continuing to grow, Katie entered a Columbus Scout Guide Giveaway in 2020 which included a stay at Hotel LeVeque. In December 2021, Katie and Geoff planned their visit to the stunning hotel, which is where Geoff proposed.

Just like that, Katie began planning her dream wedding.

When it came to finding the perfect wedding dress, Katie met with Tanya from Gilded Social, a local boutique known for its personalized service that leaves the bride feeling their most confident self. Tanya’s thoughtful accommodations made the dress shopping experience a joy for Katie. Not only did Katie find her dream dress, but her mom also found her perfect dress as well. Tanya let Katie’s mom buy a sample from right off the rack, and seamstress Mary Ellen ensured a custom fit. This was such a great experience for Katie and her mom as they could go to their fittings together and create such special memories.

Katie had a vision for her beautiful floral arrangements, and Kasey from Orchard Lane Flowers brought it all to life. After a phone consultation, Katie was feeling as if Kasey understood exactly what she was looking for. The preparation and pick up was very quick and easy for Katie and her arrangements seamlessly matched the classiness of her wedding.

“I don’t know how she did it, but she captured my vision perfectly,” said Katie.

Katie tied together her home garden with the flowers from her wedding which has become an extra special way to cherish those memories.

At the hotel where it all began, Katie worked with Hotel LeVeque to accommodate her guests with not only a place to stay, but to share in a brunch the next morning.

“They were beyond accommodating and wonderful to work with,” Katie shared.

Katie also collaborated with Ali, owner of Alexandra Williams to create custom welcome boxes for her guests that incorporated notecards of the LeVeque and finished with “the cutest most darling packaging.”

On March 25th, 2023, Katie and Geoff’s beautifully detailed day arrived. A ceremony at St. John Neumann Catholic church was followed by a stunning reception at the Statehouse.

Following the wedding, Katie and Geoff spent two weeks exploring Europe in June. Today they are continuing to renovate their dream home while tying in those special moments from their special day.

Katie and Geoff’s beautiful day not only showcased the beginning of their married life, but also shared the soul of Columbus.
