OH WHAT FUN! ‘Tis the Season to be Jolly . . .and Creative at Yellow Door Art Studio! 

The Scout Guide Bergen County Volume 4 has an exciting new member to bring the creative joy of color into our life – Yellow Door Art Studio in Westwood. Lauren Mandal is the owner and creative genius behind this new studio. An eccentric and quirky artist with whimsical charm, Lauren captivates children’s wonder and heightens their imagination by creating colorful environments and process based art experiences.

Lauren is using her 20 years of public & private school art teaching experience to bring the world of art and judgement free, creative potential to the children who enter her studio on a daily basis. She believes art education is not the end product, but the habit of mind formed in the art environment. Problem solving and process of abstract intelligent exploration learned through art is tangible to every student.

Yellow Door Art Studio is an imagination’s playground and more. It is a space filled with color, free spirit creativity, enthusiasm and an all around feeling of joy. Upon entering the studio, you might encounter finger painting on large white canvases, craft projects for all seasons, birthday parties, family nights and so much more.

When Lauren is not at Yellow Door Art Studio, she spends her time making local schools beautiful through her brightly colored murals. Her designs and hand painted custom artwork bring color, creativity and interactivity to schools — both inside and out. Her self-empowering and bold playground and school mural work has been spreading color and inspiration to teachers, students and parents throughout Bergen County.

• Mother / Daughter Polymer Clay Jewelry Workshop with Juliet Villanella: Friday, November 17, 7:00 – 8:00pm
• Gingerbread House Workshop with Westwood Candy Co.: Wed., December 13, 4:00 – 5:00pm 
• Crafting & Carols: Friday, December 15, 9:30 – 11:00am for ages 2 – 5 years old with special co-host Jiggly Wiggly 
• Holiday Printmaking Workshop (cards, wrapping paper & gift tags!): Monday, December 20, 4:00 – 5:00pm 
• New Year, New Family Plans – Family Vision Board Night: Friday, Jan. 12, 6:00 – 7:00pm 
• Hellow Kids Club Night: Saturday, Jan. 20, 6:00 – 8:00pm (*Parents, we know you could use a post-holiday break. Go have some guilt-free adult fun while the kids hang at their happy place with pizza & crafting!)
