Rosi's Bridal Studio Top Wedding Dress Trends in 2023

June is here and at TSG that means we are thinking of all things wedding.  At the top of our wedding list is of course the dress.  Lucky for our local brides who are currently searching for the perfect wedding dress, we spoke with Aida Mejia of Rosi’s Bridal Studio in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey for her take on the latest trends.

Aida understands, the picking of the dress is an experience you’ll remember forever. For many newly engaged brides, this is a moment you have dreamt about for years.  As you begin the shopping for dress that will be awarded your “Yes”, we want you to learn first hand what the trends are for 2023 and 2024.  Understanding what is coming your way will help you enjoy a stress free dress shopping experience.

What Rosi’s Bridal Studio is seeing:

The Dress:

Strapless.  The timeless strapless remains the top choice for today’s brides.  Even when the bride-to-be comes in unsure, the strapless dress is always a crowd pleaser and usually wins.

Gowns with asymmetrical laces and overrall design offer the traditional bride a modern twist that is flattering.

Soft Alines in satin and English net as opposed to fuller Alines are a popular choice amongst brides.

Square necklines and peaked necklines like those found in the Antonio Gual gowns are providing a sophisticated look for brides who love a strapless look as well as brides who shy away from a strapless gowns and who are looking for a more conservative neckline.

Overskirts continue to provide the bride a second look without the need to change into a second dress.

Brocade, puffy sleeves and bows are making a major comeback and are perfect for the bride who is seeking a traditional look with retro modern twist.

We are seeing an increase in slit requests as well.

Contrasting fabrics, satin top with chiffon bottom is also a popular option.

Our brides prefer the softer look and less beading. Not seeing a lot of embellishment.

The Veil:

Cathedral length still hot, definitely if going for a veil want long and dramatic.

The veils tend to be plain no edging, no trim.

For the few not choosing a veil, they are doing a headpiece of some sort.

The Shoes:

Satin very traditional

Block heels provide the bride with comfort and are perfect for the less traditional outdoor venues like barns, wineries, not to mention beach destination weddings.  Dance the night away!

The Second Dress:

Yes, the second dress is here to stay.

Shorter dresses and tea length dresses are becoming increasingly popular.

Lace continues to stay strong in both short and full length gowns.

Simple, satin and slip gowns are a popular choice for second looks.
