The Scout Guide North Shore - Chicago Owner Allison Stecko

Meet Allison Stecko

Having grown up on the North Shore, Allison knows the ins and outs of each town and has always appreciated how special the area is. Some of her favorite memories include summers spent at the local beaches, biking with her dad and sisters on the Greenbay Trail before getting ice cream, Friends Park, Hackney’s on Sunday nights, and pizza from Little Red Hen, now in its 50th year. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in communications from Miami University, Allison moved to Chicago and began her career as a public relations intern at Golin, where she got a good taste of what the PR industry entails. Allison’s first full-time job was working for worldwide PR firm Edelman as an assistant account executive, where she executed some exciting PR programs and then switched to full-time event marketing at Legacy Marketing Partners, working on various liquor brands and traveling across the country to execute large-scale events.

Allison moved from downtown Chicago back to the North Shore eight years ago, where she currently resides with her husband, Todd, and their three children, Mason, Brayden, and Ava. When the opportunity to launch The Scout Guide North Shore arose, Allison felt it was a match made in heaven: It would allow her to utilize her previous experience and deep-rooted knowledge to support local businesses on the North Shore.
