Newport Beach Dock & Dine Guide

The Cannery Restaurant, a dock and dine favorite

Hop on board, we’re getting dinner. And whether it’s an afternoon with the gals or a sunset cruise for two, Newport Beach’s dock and dine options abound. To narrow down your options and steer you straight (see what we did there), we’ve rounded up our favorite bay and harbor side restaurants for sips, snacks, and port-side delivery.

DOCK & DINE

A+O RESTAURANT & BAR

1221 West Coast Hwy | @aorestaurantandbar | Located at the Balboa Bay Resort, A+O offers harborfront dining in full view of the Balboa Bay Club. Sit fireside in cool climes, sip at The Tequila Bar come warmer months, and enjoy live music year-round (Thursday – Saturday).

BLUEWATER GRILL

630 Lido Park Dr | @bluewatergrill | Dock to drink patio-side or dine aboard. Bluewater Grill will bring apps, platters, and beverages to your vessel to get you back on the water with provisions. Coming back from a day offshore? Bluewater Grill will cook and serve your catch.

BILLY’S AT THE BEACH

2751 West Coast Hwy | @billysatthebeach | Billy’s has spent twenty years perfecting the Mai Tai, get it to go for a day on the boat or grab a table along the dock to watch boats cruise by. Pair with pupus and stay for a while, Billy’s is open late.

BUDDHA’S FAVORITE

634 Lido Park Dr | @buddhasfavoritesushi | A dock-and-dine date night at Buddha’s is quintessentially Newport Beach – an experience bested only by their intimate setting and to-die-for sushi

CIRCLE HOOK FISH COMPANY

3432 Via Oporto | @circlehookfishcompany | With marina views and a fresh-daily catch courtesy of a 4th-generation member of Newport Beach Dory Fleet, Circle Hooks is classic Newport. Dock and dine or order for pickup to get back on the boat for dinner aboard.

HARBORSIDE RESTAURANT

400 Main St | The iconic Newport Beach restaurant and bar is, indeed, harborside, boasting waterfront dining from within the historic Balboa Pavilion building. Pop in for a casual lunch or enjoy their hours-long happy hour.

LIDO BOTTLE WORKS

3408 Via Oporto | @lidobottleworks | For craft-beer lovers, Lido Bottle Works is unmatched. Enjoy Michelin Guide-approved fare Marina-side and extend your time on land by wandering through Volume 1’s Lido Marina Village.

LIGHTHOUSE BAYVIEW CAFE

1600 West Balboa Blvd | @lighthousecafenb | Located in Marina Park on the Balboa Peninsula, Lighthouse Bayview Café offers nearly panoramic water views and brunch, lunch, and dinner.

MALIBU FARM LIDO

3420 Via Oporto | @malibufarmlido | Located within Volume 1 Member, Lido Marina Village, Malibu Farm is a not-so-secret California favorite beloved for its fresh, organic, local-focused fare. Expect a ‘best of’ combo between the current Malibu Farm Cafe and Malibu Farm Restaurant & Bar menus, specials exclusive to the Lido Marina Village location, and marina views.

NEWPORT LANDING RESTAURANT

503 E Edgewater | @newportlanding | With views that overlook historic Balboa Ferry, Newport Harbor, Balboa Island, Newport Center, and distant peaks of Saddleback, Newport Landing is a must. The best views are to be had from the upstairs Oyster Bar, as are some of the best oysters in town.

NOBU NEWPORT BEACH

3450 Via Oporto | @noburestaurants | Nobu at Lido Marina Village always impresses. And we’re not just talking about your date. If you know, you know. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, but we recommend the latter for harborside views.

SOL MEXICAN COCINA

251 Pacific Coast Hwy | @solcocina | Think the best of Baja in the heart of Newport. Expect an upscale, waterfront dining experience with James Beard-nominated cuisine, including 17 salsas made fresh daily.

THE CANNERY

3010 Lafayette Ave | @thecannerylindale | Originally built in 1921 as a fish cannery in Newport Beach, The Cannery preserves the long history of seafood in Newport Beach. In 1999, Newport local Jack Croul saved the building when he purchased it back from developers at three times the asking price. Pro Tip: No boat? No problem. Rent a Duffy at The Cannery!

THE DOCK

2816 Lafayette Ave | @thedocknb | A no-brainer for dock and dine meals, The Dock offers al fresco dining and a menu highlighting starters, fresh seafood, and other tasty mains like local duck breast and lamb chops. We also love The Dock for its outstanding wine selection and gourmet brunch.

THE WINERY RESTAURANT & WINE BAR

3131 West Coast Hwy | @thewineryrestaurant | Think contemporary California cuisine in a sophisticated setting that overlooks Newport Harbor. Enjoy over 650 wine selections and ask for a tour of the climate-controlled cellars.

WOODY’S WHARF

2318 Newport Blvd | @woodysnewport | A Newport landmark since 1965, Woody’s Wharf serves up seafood favorites, prime steaks, and a famous (infamous?) champagne brunch on Sundays.

ZINQUÉ

3446 Via Oporto | @zinque | Another Newport favorite located at Lido Marina Village, the French bistro offers sit-down dining, as well as a takeout counter on Via Oporto to get you back to your boat in a jiffy.
