This Memorial Day, local restaurant to donate proceeds to organization
supporting America’s veterans and the families of fallen heroes

LEXINGTON, KY (May 2, 2024) – In honor of this year’s Memorial Day weekend, Epping’s on Eastside will host a fundraising event at the restaurant (264 Walton Avenue) on Thursday, May 23 to benefit the
Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Tunnel to Towers provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and builds custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically
injured veterans and first responders. The nonprofit also works to eradicate veteran homelessness nationwide.

The Epping’s on Eastside team will donate 20% of all proceeds from the
evening to Tunnels To Towers. “We wanted to give people an easy way to make a difference in the lives of America’s heroes and their families this Memorial Day,” said Nathan Voorhees, Chef de Cuisine at Epping’s. “We hope the Lexington community will come by on the 23rd to help us raise money, and we’ve made it really easy. Just grab a couple drinks, plan a dinner or even order some takeout. Every dollar spent will make a difference to such a great cause.”

The event continues the restaurant group’s dedication to giving back to the community, shared Owner and Executive Chef Cole Arimes. “Food brings people together, and in that togetherness we can do great things as a community. We’re looking forward to seeing Epping’s at its
busiest on the 23rd so we can make our donation a meaningful one.”
Prior to this event, the restaurant group has raised more than $20,000 for local area nonprofits through Cole’s Community Table initiative, which hosts fundraising dinners at Epping’s on Eastside’s sister
restaurant, Coles 735 Main.

About the Tunnels to Towers Foundation
Since September 11, 2001, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has honored the heroic sacrifice of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller and all those who perished on that tragic day by supporting those who continue to risk life and limb every day. Tunnel to Towers provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and builds custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, to ensure these heroes and the families they leave behind always have a place to call home. In 2022, Tunnel to Towers expanded its mission to support those that served our country, by vowing to eradicate veteran homelessness nationwide.
