Meet American Stalls! We caught up with Yash Balasaria, CEO of this Fairfax, Virginia-based luxury stabling equipment and hardware company. Yash and his team create elements that are one-of-a-kind when it comes to outfitting, remodeling and renovating your barn. Really, they are top-notch “equestrian-haven” creators, and we are thrilled to have Yash and American Stalls as part of The Scout Guide Hunt Country! Keep scrolling to read our Q+A with Yash.

TSG: How did you get started in your business here in Hunt Country?

YASH: American Stalls is part of a family business ownership group that consists of other specialized steel manufacturing businesses. Together, this ownership group services industries such as steelmaking, mining, construction, and fencing. American Stalls was particularly founded in 2005 after we won a RFP to build 1,500 horse stalls for HITS Saugerties. Ever since, we have evolved into a highly specialized manufacturer of the finest stable equipment that is custom built to order here in the U.S.A.!

TSG: What do you love most about living and working in Hunt Country?

YASH: We’re right in the middle of some of the most beautiful, dynamic equestrian activity in the world. From hunter jumpers to dressage facilities to polo, we have it all here and also at the very highest level. Hunt Country also has a charm that you just cannot mirror anywhere else in the U.S. That’s why so many folks from Wellington and other parts of the U.S. spend so much time in Hunt Country. We love working on projects in this area which reflect the local aesthetic of timeless and elegant design.

TSG: What is your favorite aspect of your work?

YASH: We love being able to work with our clients here in Hunt Country on their beautiful farms. There is a charm and design aesthetic that can’t be mirrored anywhere else in the U.S.A. The geographic location also often earns us the privilege to then help our clients on their projects on other properties across the U.S – not limited to the West Coast, Texas, South Florida, and other parts of the US.

TSG: Can you tell us some of your favorite spots in Hunt Country?

YASH: There are so many amazing places in town, but we especially love the Salamander Resort for special events and stays. We also love local spots like King Street Oyster Bar, Middleburg Common Grounds, and even grabbing a pie at Teddy’s!

TSG: What are some recent or new projects for American Stalls?

YASH: The unique thing about our business is that virtually every product we offer is truly custom built to order. We are always looking to innovate and that’s shown even in our details – whether it’s our choices in finishes, latches, tack hardware, and even our specialized designs. We encourage readers to check us out on social media and our website to follow along on our beautiful new projects. Our newly finished and upcoming projects include interesting locations such as Hawaii to Rancho Santa Fe, California to Big Sky, Montana to the Caribbean and even Mexico.

TSG: Is there any insider advice you would give to your clients or customers?

YASH: Our advice is to not settle on your dreams. Your dream barn is often a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Just like no two homes are alike – no two barns alike. No two horses are alike and no two horse owners are alike. You will have your set of preferences on how you take care of your horses, how you feed them, how you like to turn them out, and even how you like to operate a sliding door. Our team of experienced Project Managers, craftsmen, and engineers are here to help build the finest stable equipment that meets your needs. The sky is the limit with your barn and that means choosing designs, latches, hardware, and finishes that work for you, your preferences, and your horses. We’re also able to go a step further to ensure we connect you with the right building professionals – whether you need an architect, builder, landscape architect, interior design, or anyone in between. We want to help your dream barn process be seamless, fun, and a magical experience.

Be sure to tell them Scout sent you!
