Ashley-Nosek

Meet Ashley Powell Nosek

Ashley was born and raised in Burlington, North Carolina, just a few miles down the road from Greensboro. After attending The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia, she received a BA from Duke, her JD and MBA from University of Miami, and then returned to Duke for a LLM in Law and Entrepreneurship. After meeting her future husband one Thanksgiving at the National Debutante Cotillion in Washington, D.C., he successfully wooed her from Durham to Greensboro, where they are now happily raising two delightful toddlers and have two wonderful golden retrievers.

In addition to helming The Scout Guide Triad, Ashley is a practicing attorney with her own law practice that focuses on startups and small- to medium-sized businesses in the Triad. In the little free time she possesses, she rides dressage, breeds Hanoverians, and frequently escapes to Debordieu in Georgetown, South Carolina and Elk River Club in Banner Elk, NC for peace and quiet.

Ashley’s Favorite Reasons to Visit

Reason 1

Three very different cities in one small region. Winston-Salem is known for its arts scene and a bustling downtown area, High Point is the furniture capital of the world and hosts large-scale trade shows twice a year, and Greensboro has a plethora of green spaces and a growing selection of fabulous dining options.

Reason 2

Amazing outdoor opportunities. Across the Triad, there are countless parks, trails, lakes, golf courses, and other opportunities for enjoying the great outdoors.

Reason 3

The art scene. There is a burgeoning arts scene with an increased emphasis on quality theater programs, and the area is known for its pottery.

WORDS TO LIVE BY:  “Carpe Diem” (Seize the Day). As a former Latin student, these have been words I’ve lived by since high school. I try to wake up every morning refreshed and ready to conquer my day, wherever it may lead me.”
