Deer Park Veterinary Hospital is proud to have a team of experienced and passionate Registered Vet Technicians who play the roles of dentists, radiologists, internists, phlebotomists, general practitioners, and more. They can do everything from advising the best training and care needed to adjust puppies to the home, all the way up to reviewing blood work and administering medicine to ensure a healthy life.

At an appointment at Deer Park Vet Hospital, the Registered Vet Tech is the one who will know your pet’s name and whether or not they are a peanut butter or cheese lover. They will know their personality and their comfort level, and because of this, the RVT is often the first face a pet will recognize.

At Deer Park Vet Hospital, each Registered Vet Tech has their own speciality. Elli loves ultrasounds and is the one responsible for teaching other techs how to best do one. Catherine loves all things internal and learning about and from bloodwork for physical care. Nicole is the behavior specialist and knows how to make the pet’s appointment the best and least stressful. And Jane—who has been with DPVH for thirty years—knows so much about so many other animals because she’s just a lover of wildlife and animals.

To celebrate Vet Tech Appreciation Week, we reached out to the Registered Vet Techs of Deer Park Vet Hospital to learn more about them, so check it below!

ELLI. Elli has been with DPVH for almost 16 years as a Registered Vet Technician and now serves as Medical Manager. A core memory of her’s is when she assisted an open heart surgery on a pet patient that they still see to this day. Outside of DPVH, Elli is always working on some sort of craft or project for her home or loved ones. Her favorite pet is her heart dog Hanky Panky, who walks around with a pacifier and is quite the talker.

NICOLE. Nicole has been a DPVH RVT for 2 years. Her core DPVH memory is her first ever staff appreciation week where they all dressed up as their favorite animals. Nicole actually grew up on a farm with lots of types of animals, and her favorite animal of all is the elephant because baby elephants are so cute.

CATHERINE. Catherine has been with DPVH for 4 years and a core memory of her’s is from a few years back when a dog came into the hospital matted down to the skin, and after the medical team groomed him, they could see how instantly happy he was. They went on to find the dog a happy home and she knew she was making a difference in his life for the better. Her favorite pet is her soul dog Gibbs, who is smart with such a unique personality. He’s been her best friend for nine years now and has been present for such big milestones in her life.

JANE. Jane’s been with Deer Park Vet Hospital for 30 years! One of her core memories over all that incredible time was when a female dog named Annie came in and gave birth to puppies, one of which she got to take home with her. That puppy, whose name is Gryff (short for Gryffindor), was a 150lb gentle giant in her and her son’s life for many years. Outside of work, Jane works as a white water rafting tour guide, and her favorite animal is a frog.

It is clear that the Registered Vet Techs of Deer Park Veterinary Hospital are passionate about their work and are extremely loving towards their pet patients, which makes an experience at DPVH all the better.
