The Birch: New Chef Ushers In New Dishes, New Experiences, and New Energy

The Birch, located in Terrace Park, has recently brought on a new chef, Chef Aaron Owen, to be at the helm in the kitchen. With him comes his full range of experience, thanks to his tenure as a chef at a number of known and storied restaurants, like Boca and Nicola’s.

Chef Aaron Owen is not only bringing fresh specials and features to The Birch’s known and established menu, but with him comes a number of new events and experiences to Terrace Park’s quaint neighborhood restaurant as well. There will not only be offerings like the weekly Blue Plate Special and a nightly feature, but there will now be two unique weekly events: Tasting Tuesdays and Noodle Night on Wednesdays.

On Tuesdays, enjoy three courses paired with three wines for $60. This offering will boast its own special menu, hand drawn by Chef Aaron himself, and the dishes will each have their own play-on-words titles. Regular menu also available, but seating for the Tasting will be between 6 and 7:30pm in order to accommodate and enjoy the experience. To catch a preview of each Tuesday Tasting menu ahead of time, make sure to be following on Instagram.

And then following Tasting Tuesday will be a Wednesday Night “Noodle Night” at The Birch. There will be a weekly noodle feature each Wednesday night, but as an added twist, followers on Instagram are invited to cast a vote between two options ahead of time in order to determine which pasta will be that night’s feature. This too is another fun experience coming to The Birch thanks to Chef Aaron.

The Birch restaurant embodies the TSG mantra of Live. Love. Local. The Birch is located in Terrace Park and owned by Brett and Aaron Tritsch, who also live with their family in the neighborhood. The building was originally owned by Brett’s parents, and both Brett and Aaron are passionate about the space, its location, and keeping the business in the neighborhood.

The Birch building was formerly a street side hotel, and much of those details can still be seen and honored in the back building. The building has been owned by Brett’s family and was once a small shopping boutique, but in 2017 they officially opened the space as The Birch Restaurant.

The Birch also has their own wine retail shop as well, with case subscription service available, so alongside their simple, fresh, and delicious menu are their hand-selected collection of affordable wines and beers.
