DOWNTOWN OPELIKA | Opelika, Alabama located in Lee County was founded in 1854. Opelika is known for its railroad history which helped earn its nickname and slogan “Opelika, an old railroad town”. While the stores and restaurants might be different today, you can look at old photos of Downtown Opelika and see all the familiar structures.

DOWNTOWN AUBURN | Does anyone recognize this landmark found in Auburn, AL?
Auburn, Alabama, located in Lee County, was founded in 1836. Auburn gets its name and nickname from Oliver Goldsmith’s poem, “The Deserted Village,” which reads “Sweet Auburn, the loveliest village of the plain.” While these buildings and streets might look different from today, they are the beginning of where so many of our Auburn traditions take place.
