Sarah Cottrell Russell was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. She attended Norfolk Academy and the University of Virginia, graduating with a degree in Art History. Upon graduating from college, Sarah moved to Richmond, Virginia, for two years, where she worked as a project manager and design assistant for interior design firm Beaty & Brown. Armed with a love for art and design, and having been a longtime fan of The Scout Guide, she was thrilled when the opportunity arose to step into the role of Editor of The Scout Guide in her area.

As Editor of The Scout Guide Virginia Beach & Norfolk, Sarah loves highlighting the fabulous business owners of her hometown that she so passionately loves.

Sarah’s Three Favorite Reasons to Visit Virginia Beach & Norfolk:

  1. The beach and boardwalk. “Virginia Beach has some of the most gorgeous long and sandy beaches!”
  2. The water. “There’s water everywhere in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, and more than enough opportunities to enjoy it. The boating, surfing, and fishing are all awesome!”
  3. The food. “Filled with a vibrant mix of chefs, farmers, and bakers, Hampton Roads has blossomed into one of the South’s most dynamic foodie destination. The city’s captivating urban appeal and history lures visitors in, and the culinary creations keep them here.”
