Meet Nikki Logan Curran

Nikki Logan Curran was raised in the South surrounded by ancient oaks, southern cuisine, and generations of storytelling. She inherited a deep love for adventure, travel, and all things outdoors—all of which she still enjoys. Nikki headed west for college, and after graduating with a degree in Fine Arts from Arizona State University, she moved to Sarasota, Florida, where she has spent the last 17 years in the marketing and event planning industry along with her husband, David; their two children; and their beloved pooch, Video.

Nikki was introduced to The Scout Guide in a hotel room on a business trip in Palm Beach, Florida. The book was stunning and offered a true snapshot of the beauty, community, and lifestyle of the Florida west coast. Page by page, she found each image more telling than the next. In fact, Nikki didn’t even keep it, since she thought something that beautiful certainly wasn’t complimentary! When TSG came to Sarasota she was thrilled. She watched the previous Editor, Susan, create something truly special and eventually began working with her, planning events and launch parties. Nikki took over as Editor of The Scout Guide Sarasota, Anna Maria, & Boca Grande in summer 2018, and is thrilled to continue fostering meaningful collaborations and representing incredible Suncoast businesses.

Nikki takes advantage of Sarasota’s arts, culture, and beautiful beaches, and is rooted in her community, sitting on numerous boards and non-profit committees. She loves getting out and meeting new people, and helping to find and promote the best of local in Sarasota, Anna Maria, and Boca Grande. She also enjoys the creative side of TSG, including styling photoshoots and putting together a beautiful publication.

Nikki’s Favorite Reasons to Visit

Reason 1

Beautiful beaches. With over 50 miles of white sand beaches and gorgeous Gulf of Mexico sunsets, the Florida west coast is certainly for the record books…perfect for a romantic getaway, fun family vacation, or even a relaxing trip alone!

Reason 2

The Cultural Coast. Sarasota is known as Florida’s Cultural Coast, featuring The Sarasota Ballet, Sarasota Opera House, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Orchestra, and much more. We’re also home to The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Ca d’Zan (the Ringling Mansion), Mote Marine, the award-winning Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, and the world-renowned Sarasota school of architecture (also known as Sarasota Modern).

Reason 3

Fishing and boating. Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico have some of the best fishing and boating on the west coast of Florida. Private fishing charters, sunset cruses and dolphin excursions are offered daily and never disappoint!
