Meet Ashlyn Gibbens Lawson

Originally from Aubrey, a small town in North Texas, Ashlyn Lawson attended Texas A&M University. After graduating, she traveled the country during her early career in medical sales, living and visiting various cities across the nation before landing in Austin, Texas. Once there, she revisited her agricultural background, and started her own floral and event design business. It was here that Ashlyn first discovered The Scout Guide, and she found her wedding industry friends and mentors gracing not only the beautiful pages of the Austin guide, but they had a presence in guides across the nation.

Presently, Ashlyn is back in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with her husband Jason and their three young children (Four if you count her partner-in-crime Buster, a large and goofy lab that can be found in Volume 1 of The Scout Guide Southlake & Grapevine).  After a successful launch as editor in Southlake & Grapevine, Ashlyn is thrilled to introduce The Scout Guide to the Plano, Frisco, & McKinney area.

When she’s not scouting, Ashlyn enjoys walks with her family and dog, traveling, frequenting local restaurants with her girlfriends, entertaining, volunteering with local non profits, and of course, Aggie football.

Ashlyn’s Favorite Reasons to Visit

Reason 1

Community.  There’s a reason why this is one of the fastest growing areas in the nation. With great schools, activities, parks, and a diverse community—it’s a great place to live at any stage of life.

Reason 2

Shopping. Yes, the malls and luxury shopping centers are fabulous, but this area is also home to some of the best local shopping in Texas!

Reason 3

Activities. On any given day you can find something fun and unique to occupy your time. Music festivals, art shows, sporting events, live music, kid friendly activities… this area has it all!

WORDS TO LIVE BY:  A quote said over and over by Ashlyn’s grandfather, “Bigdaddy”: “No matter the situation, never let your emotions overpower your intelligence.” – Jean Hudson
