Since 1996, co-founders Jacki Tatman and Erin Essert have played a crucial role in the Fresh Start Gala. Now, with an expanded ownership team, including Nicole Evans, Jessica Gallegos, and Kelly Reid, Leidan Mitchell is set to bring the runway to life again, featuring the Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2024 Collection.

Jacki Tatman and Erin Essert, co-founders of Leidan Mitchell, have been integral to the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation for over three decades. Since its establishment in 2001, Leidan Mitchell has been the trusted salon to bring the annual designer runway show to life, contributing to an inspiring evening supporting women on their journeys to self-sufficiency.
The Leidan Mitchell/Fresh Start journey with Carolina Herrera began in 1999 when the Gala showcased her couture collection for the first time. In 2005, Ms. Herrera once again supported the Gala and attended the event. To prepare for the Phoenix show, Jacki, Erin, and Fresh Start Co-founder Pat Petznick, attended the unveiling of the 2005 Fall collection at New York Fashion Week, meeting with Ms. Herrera backstage and gaining valuable insight into her fall collection’s design.
Since then, Leidan Mitchell established a design team that actively participates in numerous shows across the Valley, Los Angeles, and NYC. The team’s adeptness in working behind the scenes amidst fast-paced, noisy, and hectic environments showcases the stylists’ expertise, comfort, and creativity. This expertise serves as a testament to the trust and recognition they have earned as beauty experts, extending their reputation both within and beyond the salon.
On March 23, the 2024 Fresh Start Gala will be another magical evening, featuring Fresh Start’s signature couture cocktail reception and the Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show, with Creative Director Wes Gordon in attendance.
Leidan Mitchell and their expanded ownership group will collaborate with the design team to prepare the models for the couture show, ushering in a new era of Carolina Herrera designs with Mr. Gordon at the helm.
