Recently, we had the privilege of chatting with one of the Valley’s most sought-after plastic surgeons, board-certified Dr. Anthony Admire, MD, FACS of AdmireMD Plastic Surgery + Skin Clinic. Arizona-born-and-bred, Dr. Admire attended high school, college, and medical school (University of Arizona) in Tucson. He completed his general surgery and plastic surgery residency in St. Louis, before returning home to Tucson in 2006, where he took a position with the University of Arizona College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Acting Chief of Plastic Surgery. In late 2007, he established his private plastic surgery practice in North Scottsdale, which has flourished for over the past fifteen years.

TSG Phoenix & Scottsdale: From serving as Chief of Plastic Surgery at HonorHealth Osborn Campus to your high level of engagement with American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, it’s clear you’re deeply committed to your craft. Did you always know you wanted to be a surgeon?
Dr. Admire: Yes, I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue medicine. And, given my artistic ability, plastic surgery was a natural choice.
TSG Phoenix & Scottsdale: Doctors don’t always go the entrepreneurial route. What inspired you to start your practice?
Dr. Admire: I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. In fact, I started my first business at ten years old! I enjoy starting, creating, and building things to watch them flourish.
TSG Phoenix & Scottsdale: Your practice encompasses both surgical and non-surgical procedures. Can you speak to your offerings at AdmireMD?
Dr. Admire: AdmireMD Plastic Surgery + Skin Clinic is a cosmetic surgery and aesthetic practice. My background informs our surgical offerings, which include facial rejuvenation, complex breast revisions, and body contouring. Our Skin Clinic complements these offerings with a complete range of luxury skin rejuvenation services, like lasers, IPL/BBL, skin tightening, radiofrequency microneedling, and cosmetic injectables.
TSG Phoenix & Scottsdale: We believe you are particularly well-known for your expertise in extended Deep Plane Facelift techniques. Can you speak more about this?
Dr. Admire: Significant signs of facial aging — like loss of cheek volume, deep nasolabial folds, lower eyelid tissue separating from the cheeks, drooping, jowls, and the like — are difficult to correct with standard, traditional face and neck lift methods. Deep Plane Facelifts and neck lifts correct all the above deformities and signs of aging to create multiple decades younger appearance in a very natural way. Moreover, the technique provides consistent precision and longer-lasting results with a short, painless recovery.
TSG Phoenix & Scottsdale: What philosophy informs your approach?
Dr. Admire: No two faces are alike. So, a surgeon must have a keen aesthetic eye and great skill in marrying a patient’s expectations with their own professional expertise on facial symmetry and what looks best.
TSG Phoenix & Scottsdale: You’re not only sought-after by patients in Arizona, but throughout the entire country. What do you advise clients prioritize when selecting a plastic surgeon?
Dr. Admire: Do your research! It may sound obvious, but many physicians can disguise their credentials or lack thereof. Make sure you consult with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. If your surgeon does not proudly display this accreditation plaque prominently in their office, ask why. You should also look for memberships in organizations that prioritize credentialing, education, and ethics. These organizations include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Admire: Yes, I’m an active member, leader, and speaker with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Admire: Every single patient inspires me to be at my absolute best with every treatment and surgical outcome. I am also firmly committed to patient education, and serve as a Key Opinion Leader and advisor for numerous aesthetic companies and brands.
