The Scout Guide Lafayette, LA owners

Meet Jennifer Brewer & Krysten Ledet

Jenn and Krysten were introduced to one another through Jenn’s husband and instantaneously hit it off. Jenn in real estate and Krysten in interior design, their passion for all things community and beauty made for a strong foundation for a beautiful friendship. Having been close friends for over a decade, Jenn and Krysten were introduced to the Scout Guide and immediately recognized a need for it in their community. Both sharing a love for all things entrepreneurial and having seen first hand the importance of supporting small businesses, they knew they were the perfect fit to be the faces behind the Scout Guide Lafayette. Given their diverse yet similar backgrounds, Jenn and Krysten knew they’d be the right team bringing each of their expertises to their roles. While they both excel in building relationships, Jenn specializes in all things administrative and marketing and Krysten brings her creativity and business mindset to the guide. They launched their partnership in 2023 and will publish their first guide in 2024. In addition to being passionate about all things Lafayette and small business, Jenn and Krysten both enjoy spending time with their respective families and friends, whether in the comfort of their own homes or out and about at local events.

Jennifer & Krysten Favorite Reasons to Visit

Reason 1

Our Cajun culture.  We both love Lafayette’s unique culture. Louisiana is a state like no other and you have to visit us to really understand that, but Lafayette has even more culture within our smaller city. There is always something going on year round, whether it be Mardi Gras, crawfish season, gumbo weather (it’s a thing), or one of our many yearly festivals. It is always a party and never a dull moment!

Reason 2

Our cuisine.  Louisiana cuisine is renowned for its rich and diverse flavors, blending French, African, Spanish, and Native American influences. From gumbo with a medley of seafood to spicy jambalaya and flavorful étouffée, you’ll never be disappointed. The use of Cajun and Creole seasonings, along with fresh, local ingredients, creates a unique and delicious culinary experience that’s hard to resist. Whether it’s crawfish boils, po’’boys, or beignets and legendary king cakes, Louisiana’s food is a celebration of bold, savory, and comforting flavors.

Reason 3

The people. Louisianians are known for their warm hospitality, vibrant culture, and a strong sense of community, making visitors feel like part of the family. Whether it’s the lively atmosphere of Mardi Gras or the genuine conversations in local shops, the spirit of Louisiana is reflected in the kindness and friendliness of its people. Their resilience and love for their traditions add a special charm to the state, creating a wonderful and memorable experience for those lucky enough to interact with them.
