Can you tell me a bit more about yourself and how your journey led you to where you are today?

Lindsay Madonia: After 10 years in digital advertising I was feeling burnt out and looking for a more fufilling career path. The opportunity to buy Windows Dressed Up as an established turn key business really fell into our lap at exactly the right time. Lets just say the stars were aligned perfectly and I’ve never looked back!

Can you please tell me a little about your business?

We are an Interior Window Design Studio offering custom draperies, roman shades, shutters, blinds and motorized window treatments for your home, office or small commercial project.

Why did you start your own business?

Both of my parents are entrepreneurs and growing up I saw the benefits, struggles, and passion they had for business. It also gave me the courage to say “I can do this!”

What do you love most about owning your own business?

The trajectory of my life is 100% up to me. I get to choose what, how, where and when. That is a very liberating feeling to wake up with every day!

What inspires you?

I work with amazing people everyday, from all different walks of life. The most inspiring and interesting people are typically the most modest, thats who I want to be.

What makes you feel accomplished?

Adding a design element to a space like window coverings can really change the entire feel of a room. Those are my favorite days!

If you could go back in time and give your 18 year old self advice, what would it be?

Enjoy being young and free! I spent way too much time worrying about the future, being tethered to a job or relationship, I could have been more carefree.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Traveling and spending time outside, snowboarding is my favorite!

What trends are you seeing that relate to your business that our readers should be aware of?

Using gray in every aspect of your home will eventually be an outdated trend that people will cringe at.

What do you like best about being apart of The Scout Guide?

Leigh and her team are amazing to work with! They’ve put so much pride into TSG and it truly is a piece that people love to share.

What’s next for you and your business?

We’ve become more involved this year with the Tennyson Berkley Business Association (TBBA). Its up the small businesses like us to keep the Denver business districts local and thats important to us.

What are three fun facts about you?

– I’ve been to over 25 countries and spent around 10 weeks in Vietnam. I love it there!

– I’m a professionally trained ballerina.

– My mom, sister and I worked on an episode of Extreme Home Makeover (Season 7, Episode 16).
