Can you tell me a bit more about yourself and how your journey led you to where you are today?

Meaghan Rubey: I am an avid mother, married for 22 years, mother of two teenagers, love rescue dogs and love watching football.

Can you please tell me a little about your business?

I started Roubaix to create an elegant accessory brand that allowed one to show their passion for one’s alma mater. But as the company grew, the product became recognized first and foremost for its elegance and exceptional quality. Roubaix’s mission is to create exquisite handbags and accessories that are handmade in the United States. Our product is made from Louisiana alligators as part of a wetlands conservation program and sustainability effort.

Why did you start your own business?

I started Roubaix to fill a gap in what I perceived to be a lack of elegance in products you could buy and wear to support your favorite teams.

What do you love most about owning your own business?

The freedom to make more own decisions with respect to product design and marketing approach.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

I run long distance and train for mountain running races. I love to be outdoors walking my dogs and cooking.

What trends are you seeing that relate to your business that our readers should be aware of?

That every stadium now (even high school) and concerts require clear game day bags, which we sell! Ours are elegant and will last longer than most bags because they are lined with alligator.

What do you like best about being apart of The Scout Guide?

The community it represents and the other small supportive businesses I get to meet and interact with consistently.

What’s next for you and your business?

Selling more to wholesale outlets.

What are 3 fun facts about you?

1) I have 4 rescue dogs.

2) Both my children (a boy and a girl) are Eagle Scouts.

3) I have 125K Tik Tok followers.
