Dare to Dazzle: 6 Bold Jewelry Trends for Fall

Throughout the pandemic we all played it pretty safe, and that carried over into our wardrobe. But now the tide is turning as we’re making bold choices in every aspect of our lives, from our interiors to accessories. We checked in with four jewelry experts to suss out what’s big in the world of baubles and gems this season. Say au revoir to dainty, nondescript jewelry and embrace statement pieces that are making a big splash. From a bold bracelet that’s sure to draw enviable eyes to a buzzy necklace for a great cause, read on for jewelry trends we’ll be flashing all season long.

Get flirty with florals. According to Jen Hansen, designer and founder of Jen Hansen Fine Jewelry in Austin, Texas, feminine florals are big when it comes to jewelry this season. Botanical-themed jewelry is the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe, and can run the gamut from cute and whimsical to sleek and modern. A petal-inspired number like the Fiore Swing Earrings are the perfect way to wear this trend.

Energize your arm stack. Self care is taking center stage in many of our lives, and that’s flowing over into our jewelry. The zen-minded are choosing to layer up with dynamic chakra bracelets, like this Blue Lace Agate piece by Ananya. “The good vibes of the gemstone chakra bracelets add the perfect mix of color and interest to your wrist,” says Joanna Latham, owner of Jo Latham Fine Jewelry in Fort Worth, Texas. “They are the ultimate ‘it’ girl addition to your jewelry collection.”

Choke up. Chokers are back and better than ever. Unlike the teeny bopper versions of their past, these close-fitting neck adornments are now popping up in luxe styles and very wearable ways. “Whether you choose to stack a few up or wear one eye-catching piece, chokers are a great way to accentuate your neckline and add visual interest to your décolletage,” Hansen confirms. Want to try this new again style but unsure where to start? She recommends going bold and opting for a piece reminiscent of the 90s like this Sparkle Cuban Link Choker.

Statement-making earrings are back. Throwing on a “party earring” can jazz up any ensemble. Latham reports that color rules this season, and the bigger the bauble the better! Showstoppers like the Silk Road Marquetry Earrings can take your look from plain to posh in an instant.

Not your grandma’s pearls. No longer reserved for the conservative wearer, pearls are hot this season and being shown in a variety of hip and sassy ways. “Bold or dainty, pearls are a sure-fire way to class up your everyday look,” shares Haley Passmore, marketing at Blakeman’s Fine Jewelry in Rogers, Arkansas. “Pearls are showing up in all new styles with ear parties and ring stacks, it’s all about wearing pearls with a twist.”

Embrace jewelry for a cause. No longer are baubles merely adornments, but increasingly their purchase supports an important cause to the wearer. Case in point, the plight of the honeybee that’s showcased by the The “B” Collection by Gumuchian. Inspired by the honeybee and the dangers surrounding the decline of the species, jewelry designer Gumuchian created stunning pieces like this Diamond Mini B Multi Necklace. “A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these insect-inspired jewels will be donated to a non-profit organization to help save the beloved honeybee,” notes Jane Carter-Getz, founder of Belle Cose in Jackson, Wyoming.
