Division Road, Inc. is a luxury heritage menswear retailer that was initially started in Seattle in 2015. Set in motion by the pandemic and with a mission to reinvigorate a sense of discovery in retail, Division Road relocated from a downtown Seattle boutique to 45 acres of untouched woods, fields and meadows just outside of Charlottesville in 2022. Just as their brand is about celebrating the distressed touch of age & patina that comes with time, adventure & a journey, we are celebrating the fact that this journey brought them to Charlottesville. Founder & owner, Jason Pecarich said that while searching for the perfect location nationwide was much like “looking for a single branch in the forest,” through much consideration & research they found their perfect blank canvas along the Monticello Wine Trail in Albemarle County.

With dynamic spaces that include forest, fields & creeks, this space would allow them to build out the new foundation for the Division Road of the future in close proximity to the fabulous food, wine & experiences that Charlottesville has to offer, creating the perfect hub for reimagined retail & rewarding lifestyle experiences. Division Road retrofit an old equestrian barn and farmhouse in Scottsville, Virginia into their Headquarters and product gallery. Beyond the buildings and goods, they are working to responsibly restore the land into a conservation-focused wildlife area that they are calling The Fields. This new setting provides opportunities to demonstrate Division Road’s concentration on high-quality goods that are built to last in all conditions, while supporting the full circle lifecycle of materials & connection to the land that forms the basis of many of their products.

Step one of their massive conservation project involved overhauling eight acres of cattle grazing fields inundated with invasive, non-native grasses and working to convert them into a diverse pollinator habitat. In tandem they also installed a honeybee apiary. The second phase, involves planting nearly 2,000 native trees and shrubs to promote carbon capture, improve the local water quality and soil nutrients, and mitigate flood runoff. The foundation has been laid and is starting to bud for customers and visitors to enjoy an experience unsurpassed and completely unique to Division Road.

What are heritage goods? Division Road believes in heritage luxury and that quality is paramount. They represent exclusive North American, Western European and Japanese manufacturers with the highest quality goods and customer service standards. Heritage goods are made to last, as Division Road believes that true sustainability means buying once. They select brands carefully and are committed to goods that are designed to endure the test of time. Division Road works with brands who combine modern design with old world production standards. The brands and products that they carry have stories and an adherence to high standards when it comes to design, materials and craftsmanship. Heritage goods are rugged, yet refined. They have an aesthetic that speaks to hard work, ingenuity and perhaps even a rebellious spirit. Many people who have an appreciation for heritage goods, long for the story behind the goods. They long for the authenticity that comes from generations of expertise and devotion to artistry. For this reason, Division Road has developed special residency events with their makers to include exclusive Made-to-Order products, season previews, educational presentations, and exclusive receptions. These residencies are held bi-annually at The Fields in Scottsville, Virginia.

Fall-Winter Residency at The Fields. The next residency at The Fields will take place over Veterans Day Weekend, November 10th through 12th, and includes four all-time shop and fan favorites coming to Charlottesville from near and far. De Bonne Facture is making the trip from Paris to offer pre-orders on limited release capsule collections and will conduct a presentation on traceability, sustainability, and cultural and regional design inspirations — detailing how these vital elements coalesce into the product and brand. Chris Olberding from Gitman Vintage in Pennsylvania will be in attendance with an MTO trunk show of deadstock fabrics and rare factory finds, allowing shirting customizations down to the body, collar, front, sleeves, and pockets. For foundational footwear from across the pond, come meet David Jeffery from Tricker’s and create one-of-a-kind Made to Orders from deadstock leathers and archived patterns. Complete this expansive custom shopping experience with Greg Cordeiro coming from EasyMoc in Maine who will be bringing handsewn Made-to-Order options along with several rare pre-order selections. This is an extraordinary opportunity to connect, learn, and create with luxury heritage brands from across the globe. Be sure to RSVP to reserve your spot now.
