Meet Jackie Lyles

Originally hailing from Niagara Falls, New York, Jackie Lyles moved to Roswell, Georgia, when she was 15 and has lived in the Atlanta area ever since. Jackie fell in love with the area for many reasons, among them among them the weather of course, the beautiful historic buildings, and all of the unique shops and restaurants.

Throughout her storied career, Jackie has held positions at an Atlanta-area advertising agency, in sales for BellSouth Real Yellow Pages, and as publisher of a local, monthly, Atlanta publication where she wore many hats—selling ads, tracking down stories, and writing articles. Her publishing experience was a great way to get to know the residents, the local advertisers, and to bring everyone together.

Jackie is happily married to her husband, Frank and together they’ve raised two college-aged children, Caroline and Frank. An avid pet-lover, her menagerie currently consists of two dogs, two cats, and two goats. Her favorite pastime is exploring her city, especially the local eateries, with her family, and taking the whole crew on the road for travel experiences.

Jackie has long enjoyed shopping locally and has always looked to The Scout Guide to help her with that endeavor. As editor, she most looks forward to shining the spotlight on the many small businesses in the area and making meaningful connections between them and the community. After all, she believes that whether you’ve lived somewhere your whole life or are new to the area, getting to know the local businesses and calling on those establishments frequently are the keys to truly feeling at home in your town. She’s thrilled to provide that bridge to her community as the new editor/owner of The Scout Guide Alpharetta & Roswell.

Jackie’s Favorite Reasons to Visit

Reason 1

History: There’s a lot of history in this area and Alpharetta and Roswell are home to many museums that tell the story from the first settlers to modern day. My personal favorite is visiting the many restored old homes.

Reason 2

Outdoor Living: We’re fortunate to enjoy nice weather year-round, which gives a lot of time to be outdoors. Whether you like hiking, kayaking on the Chattahoochee, visiting an equestrian farm, frequenting outdoor markets, attending music festivals, or simply enjoying lots of green space, we’ve got it all in spades.

Reason 3
Foodie Scene: If you’re a foodie, and enjoy visiting breweries and wine bars, then you’ll love it here—whether you call it home or are just visiting. You’ll find the most creative restaurants, countless breweries and wineries, each with unique offerings.
