7 Things Our Nashville & Franklin Editors Are Loving Right Now

As advocates for small businesses, The Scout Guide editors are continually scouting their communities for local finds to share and celebrate. We caught up with The Scout Guide Nashville & Franklin owner Sara Garner and editor Ann Whitten Reynaud to find out what they’re really excited about these days. Here, they share a few of their current obsessions, from the dresses they’re wearing all summer long to the show they can’t stop watching.

1. what we’re inspired by

Gina Julian Art | “We are constantly inspired by Gina’s powerful use of color in all of her incredible pieces. Her colors are vibrant and unique just like her personal art collection at her beautiful home in Nolensville, Tennessee, that we were lucky enough to get a tour of over this summer.”

2. where we’re going

Nantucket, Massachusetts |  “We’re escaping the heat wave in Nashville by heading up to Nantucket Island. A family tradition of Sara’s for several decades, we plan to spend our days riding bikes, making meals, and getting sandy on beaches and playgrounds. Our timing is perfect as our visit coincides with the launch of the latest volume of The Scout Guide Nantucket!”

3. what we’re wearing

CeliaB Dresses from The Mill | “These dresses are light and flowy and we’re wearing them all summer long. They can easily be worn from day to night with a chic, seamless look. Plus, there are so many styles to choose from that are perfect for every occasion.”

4. who we’re decorating with

Evan Millard and LillieKat Rugs | “Sara has made a small landing space into a functional homework nook for her three little girls and has called in Evan Millard and LillieKat Rugs to make this petal pink project blossom! Stay tuned to our Instagram to watch its progress!”

5. what we’re coveting

Chanel Bag from Store 5a | “We’re kids in a candy shop when we walk into Store5a, a boutique dedicated to pre-owned luxury accessories. We’ve both got our eye on the new-to-us Chanel Calfskin Perfect Fit Flap Bag that is quite literally the perfect purse.”

6. what we’re watching

Succession on HBO Max | “I mean, who isn’t? This riveting show is now streaming on HBO Max and is such a good and binge-worthy series. With four seasons to get through, it should keep you captivated for a while.”

7. what we’re reading

Raising Emotionally Strong Boys by David Thomas | “David Thomas is a renowned author and the director of family counseling at Daystar Counseling, right here in Nashville. He’s also the co-host, alongside the wonderful Sissy Goff, of the Raising Boys and Girls Podcast. They’re heading out on tour this fall, so check their schedule to see if they’re coming to a town near you.”
