As advocates for small businesses, The Scout Guide editors are continually scouting their communities for local finds to share and celebrate. With their fingers on the pulse, they are also excellent sources of unique recommendations. Recently, we caught up with The Scout Guide Hamilton County, Indiana, editor Brynn Mueller to find out what she’s really excited about these days. Here, she shares a few of her current obsessions, from her go-to leisure look to two bingeable TV shows.

1. What I’m Wearing

Textured Sweatshirt and Crop Pants from Tangerine | “My third baby boy is due any day now, and comfort, without sacrificing style, is key during those first postpartum months! This beautifully textured set from Tangerine is perfect for lounging at home or effortlessly looking my best while on the go. I currently have the cream set, but plan to add the black and turquoise to my wardrobe very soon!”

2. Where I’m Going

Carmel City Center | “Carmel City Center is a vibrant and dynamic destination that offers a wide range of experiences making it a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. Within the center, you have a selection of boutiques, Hey Little Diddle, The Little Tulip Tree, and Lily and Sparrow being my personal favorites, specialty stores, including the fun and playful Kits & Kaboodle, and high-end retailers. The area is also brimming with an exciting array of dining options including Scouted member, 317 Charcuterie and the world-famous Cake Bake Shop. This is also the home of my favorite hotel, The Hotel Carmichael, where you can enjoy a champagne toast every day at 4 p.m., delight in a meal at Vivante, or see a show at Feinstein’s. Whatever you’re looking for, Carmel City Center is a must-visit destination!”

3. What I’m Using

SkinBetter Science Trio Rebalancing Moisture Treatment from Como Aesthetics | Long gone are my younger years where I went about my days barely moisturizing. As I get older—more kids equal more wrinkles—I have made a better effort in taking care of my skin, especially my face. I love this treatment because it is super lightweight, provides proper nourishment, regulates oil production, and best of all, evens out my skin tone.”

4. What I’m Watching

The Lincoln Lawyer and Sweet Magnolias on Netflix | “I always have two shows going at once. A series I watch with my husband as we wind down for the night and a series for myself, one my husband wouldn’t dare be caught watching. Can you guess the show I’m currently watching with my husband? You guessed it, The Lincoln Lawyer! We started it recently and we’re completely hooked. We only have two episodes to go of the last season and we’re trying to drag it out as long as possible. Sweet Magnolias is a series I enjoy on my own because it’s a heartwarming and feel-good drama that leaves me with a sense of joy.”

5. What I’m Coveting

Modal Scarf from C.Pyle Abstracts | “After surviving a life-threatening accident, artist Caroline Pyle discovered painting as part of her healing process. With the use of the most vibrant colors, Caroline’s goal is to give her emotions and others a clear voice of hope and survival. When I first visited Caroline’s space, she gifted me with the most beautiful scarf from her line of wearable art. The vivid colors and lightweight feel are perfect for any season or occasion, and I will forever cherish this special piece. Caroline also offers bags and apparel if you’re looking to brighten up someone’s day.”

6. What I’m Looking Forward To

Home Renovation by MJ Brown Renovations | “With a growing family comes a growing home! My husband and I have searched near and far for a forever home for our family. Our current home holds cherished memories and a location that simply can’t be beat, so we have finally decided to fall in love with our home all over again by renovating. We couldn’t be happier to partner with the exceptional team at MJ Brown Renovations to bring our vision to life.”

7. What I’m Drinking

The St. Elmo Espresso Martini from the Huse Culinary Restaurant Group | “I’ve missed this double-gold medal award-winning espresso martini for nine whole months. When I tell you I dreamed about it way too many times to count, I’m not lying (if you know, you know)! Made with a shot of espresso shaken with Stoli Vanilla, Nocello, Kahlua, and Woodford Reserve chocolate bitters, you can try it for yourself at any Huse Culinary restaurant, including my personal favorites, The HC Tavern + Kitchen and 1933 Lounge. If you can’t hit up any of these spots, you can have this bottled goodness shipped directly to you. Either way, don’t go another day without giving it a try. Trust me!”
