7 Things Our Columbus Editor Is Loving Right Now

Photography by Allison Leonard with Kismet Visuals.

Our editors are tastemakers in their cities and towns—and as advocates for local businesses, it’s their job to scout and celebrate their finds. Here, Abigail Fredelake, editor of The Scout Guide Columbus in Columbus, Ohio, shares a few of her faves, as well as some cultural obsessions—from her go-to blog to the chicest jacket of the season.

1. Who I’m Following

Habitually Chic | “I look forward to Habitually Chic’s blog posts every morning. Her insight into classic fashion, traveling, interiors, and more, helps spark creativity and an appreciation for quality over quantity.”

2. What I’m Wearing

Little Liffner Croc Embossed Maccheroni Bag from Pivot  | “One of my favorite looks for fall is all things crocodile. Ever on trend, Pivot is stocking a lot of this textured leather look. Though they sold out of the Ree Projects Black Croc Elieze purse I recently purchased, I’ve got the Little Liffner bag on my wishlist.”

3. Where I’m Going

Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway in NYC | “When I saw the cast for Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along (hello Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff, and Lindsay Mendez) I instantly made it a priority to go see it this year. Traveling to New York during the holidays is an added bonus, and we are taking our four-year-old son there for the first time, so this visit will be extra special.”

4. What I’m Gifting

Laguiole Ivory Mini Cheese Set | “These chic French cheese knives from Urban Sundry are on my list of favorite gifts to give this holiday season. They come in a lovely wooden box, perfect for storing.”

5. What I’m Reading

The Last Green Valley by Mark Sullivan | “I just finished this book and it left me with a whole new perspective on how to view life’s challenges. It’s based on a true story about an incredibly resilient family overcoming obstacles after World War II.”

6. What I’m Coveting

Veronica Beard’s Miller Dickey Jacket | “I’m all about a good blazer this time of year, and this gorgeous Veronica Beard one from THREAD has my heart. I like to size up so I can wear it as outerwear and layer a knit under it.”

7. What I’m Doing

Mark Gingerich: All Roads Lead Home exhibit at Brandt-Roberts Galleries | “I’m so excited to see Gingerich’s solo exhibition at Brandt-Roberts Galleries, which is showing November 5 through December 17. I adore his style and can’t wait to see which pieces are featured.”
