MEET THE FOUNDING MEMBER // Artist Raine Bedsole
Naming Raine Bedsole as a SCOUTED ARTIST was going to happen. Period. For years our editors, @peytonlocicero and @heidilocicero admired and collected pieces of art and sculptures Raine created and sold in an art gallery in New Orleans.
After receiving a copy of Bedsole’s book and spotting her sculpture, “Nomad” along Poydras Street’s art installations in New Orleans, the pair learned Bedsole spent most of creative time in her studio and her beach house in Grayton Beach, Florida. An intriguing sign that she HAD to be featured in The Scout Guide!
Raine is an award winning artist, whose work is part of the permanent collections of museums across the South.
Ben Hickey said it best, “when viewing Bedsole’s work, it is important to realize the sense of the whole shifts depending on the perspective or frame of mind of those standing before the work. Her work prompts a journey within her audience. There is no clear destination, no state of arrival.”
