Meet Winchester Acupuncture Clinic! Headed by Dr. Carrie Walston, Winchester Acupuncture Clinic offers high-quality Acupuncture along with a variety of Traditional Chinese Medicine services to achieve optimal health and wellness. Dr. Walston started Winchester Acupuncture Clinic in 2016 upon graduating from Acupuncture school, and it quickly became one of the top clinics in the area. Keep reading to get to know Dr. Walston!

“I have always been interested in medicine and health”, Dr. Walston said. ” I thought I was interested in traditional medicine but when I realized everything was pharmaceutical based, I wanted to do something different. I landed on Acupuncture because I felt like it was a medicine that really treated the root cause of issues. It gives people the ability to take care of themselves and have more control over their overall health and wellbeing.”

Dr. Walston landed on Winchester after moving from Maryland, where she grew up. “I really like it here, I find everyone is really personable. I’ve gotten to know all of my patients well, and I love that aspect of my work”, she said. “It still feels like a smaller town even though Winchester is growing dramatically.”

Of course, we had to ask, does Dr. Walston administer Acupuncture to herself? ” I will give myself treatments occasionally, but I also go to another great acupuncturist in Winchester!”

On where to start with acupuncture, Dr. Walston let us know that an initial consultation is always the best way to begin. “I offer a one-on-one consultation where we can talk about whats going on, you can ask all the questions you want, and you can get a projection of what it’s going to take to address the issue. This gives you an opportunity to get to know me and see if it’s the right fit.”

Dr. Walston focuses on everything from pain to fertility issues at the clinic. Acupuncture can be used to boost your immune system, ease pain, improve digestion, alleviate chronic aches, combat anxiety, fertility and conception issues, and so much more.

“I find it very rewarding when people are in less pain and are feeling better. I work quite a bit in women’s health as well, and it’s also really rewarding when you’ve been working with either a woman or a couple and they’re successful and get pregnant”, Dr. Walston said. “I feel like we’ve created an environment at Winchester Acupuncture Clinic where people feel really comfortable and happy to come in.”

In addition to Acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) services, Dr. Walston is pleased to now offer Shiatsu Massage, and, coming soon, Reiki Healing services! Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork based on the same principles as acupuncture. Reiki is an energetic healing practice designed for stress reduction, relaxation, and healing.

Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t ask Dr. Walston where some of her fave local Hunt Country spots are! “I love Hopscotch Coffee“, she said. “My husband and I are signed up for their coffee subscription. They roast their own beans and its such a cute shop.” Dr. Walston also likes to stretch her legs on the trails of the beautiful Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. “They have a great trail system with great hiking and walking trails!”
