Getting to Know Grassroots Larder

Grassroots Larder is your new favorite neighborhood market that provides pantry staples, local produce, house-made bread, prepared meals, local beers, and even delicious lattes in their coffee shop!

Tell us the story of Grassroots Larder. How did it begin? For years, our sister company Grassroots Ranch has taken pride in serving our community with sustainably raised, healthy, and nutrient-dense offerings, including grass-fed beef, pastured chicken & eggs, and forested pork. We’ve been dedicated to nourishing Green Country residents with the best nature has to offer. However, the world changed in the first half of 2020, and we realized our community sought a safer, more health-conscious way to shop for all their needs. The events of 2020 brought health and safety to the forefront of everyone’s minds. Families wanted a shopping experience that prioritized their wellbeing, and Grassroots Ranch was well-equipped to provide just that. Our commitment to health has always been our focus. “Local” became more than just a word; it became a symbol of trust and reliability. People were searching for local options not only for food but for all aspects of their lives. Grassroots Ranch had long embodied this ethos, and we saw the opportunity to extend our commitment to the broader community, and a desire was born to expand that into Grassroots Larder. Balancing the care of our land and animals with the growing demand for our online store became a challenge. That’s when we realized that we needed to do more. Grassroots Larder was born out of this necessity, and we strive to provide our community with first class products.

What is unique about the Grassroots Larder? Grassroots Larder represents a collective effort. We’ve brought together local producers, artisans, and craftspeople under one virtual and physical roof on Cherry Street. Our store expansion is a natural progression of our dedication to quality, sustainability, and the values that define “local.” From farm-fresh produce to handcrafted goods, our curated marketplace offers an expansive range of locally sourced and American crafted products, ensuring that every item at Larder is chosen with meticulous care, and that they meet the high standards of quality, sustainability, and local commitment.

What kinds of products do you offer to your customers? We offer a variety of products at the Larder that you will immediately recognize as local staples. Brands like Roark Acres Honey sourced from Jenks or Dale and Daughter’s delicious pickled and fermented food from Owasso are just a few of our local favorites. We also carry a wide range of products that you will not find anywhere else in Tulsa. From a variety of olive oils and vinegars, organic pasta and grains, delicious seasonings and condiments, clean beauty products and candles, and so much more!  We proudly serve Tulsa’s locally roasted Topeca coffee and have a full service espresso bar. Our baristas make all of our syrups from scratch and our drinks are made with organic local dairy. In our pastry case you’ll find freshly baked, made from scratch treats like chocolate chip cookies, our famous orange olive cake & basque cheesecake. Our kitchen team also makes so many delicious grab & go options like our Cobb Wrap, Autumn Salad & Chicken Pot Pie. We are currently working towards expanding our inventory by adding a charcuterie program as well as local produce.

What is the best way to get your products? Of course you can come shop in person at our storefront located on historic Cherry Street. Not only are you able to shop our products in store, but we also have a full service espresso bar & freshly baked pastries at our coffee counter. But if you love the convenience of getting your groceries delivered, we’ve got you covered! Almost everything you see in store is shoppable online, and for orders over $50 we offer free next day delivery to the Tulsa Metro area.

What is a fun or unique fact about your business, your team, or your line of work that you would like to share? A fun fact about our business is that we have a sister company called Grassroots Ranch, located in Porter, OK. Most of the chicken, pork, and beef products that you see in our store and are in our to-go meals are sourced directly from our ranch. Our ranch is the reason we started Grassroots Larder, and we work hand in hand to be able to provide our customers with the best meat possible.
