Scenes from The Scout Guide 2023 Editor Conference

The first week of May, The Scout Guide editor/owners from across the country convened at Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Virginia, the location of The Scout Guide HQ, for the three-day 2023 TSG Editor Conference. Attendees, seasoned editors with over 10 volumes under their belts to the newest members of the TSG family who are diving into sales for their very first guide, enjoyed a packed schedule mixed with education and plenty of play. Franchisees were debriefed by the co-founders of The Scout Guide, Christy Ford and Susie Matheson, on the future of TSG and attended sessions helmed by HQ staff on topics ranging from generative AI to powering up sales, all aimed at equipping them with the experience they need to be successful in their respective markets. Each evening franchisees enjoyed cocktails and dinner where they mingled with other editors and HQ staff and even cut a rug old-school style when a DJ turned up the music on the last night. At the conclusion of the conference, the franchisees departed with a renewed sense of our mission, to support and shine the spotlight on the small businesses in their communities, feeling invigorated and inspired until we meet again in 2024.
