Meet the MOM - Lisa Litvag

Get to know the MOM behind the business.

Most little girls played house and had baby dolls, how about you?

My earlies memory is of dressing our sweet cat Mai Tai, in baby clothes and putting him in my baby stroller.  I would pretend he was my baby.  Once my brothers were born, I replaced the cat with my baby brothers, I still remind them that I actually helped change their diapers – they are horrified!

Did you always know you wanted to be a mother?

Honestly, no.  I went through a period in my 20’s when I wholly focused on my career and climbing the ladder.  I didn’t think that children were something I wanted.

When did you change your mind?

I started warming to the idea of having children as I experienced my friends having babies.  I LOVED being with them and would often spend my weekends babysitting to give my friends a break.

Tell us about your journey to motherhood.

I met and married my husband Joe, when I was in my early 30’s.  We knew we wanted children and started trying to conceive.  It was not easy, but after several years of trying everything we finally welcomed our sweet Jakob(Jake).  Then surprisingly welcomed his brother Jordan – 20 months later.

Tell us about your favorite part of being Jake and Jordan’s Mom.

I really can’t choose one thing – being their mom is quite literally the BEST job I have ever had!

What is the best advice your mom gave you?

My mom is fierce!  She didn’t have to tell me – she showed me every day how to advocate, protect and be relentless.  Little did I know how important those lessons would be for me as I navigate parenting a child with special needs.

Do you have any advice you would give a new mother?

I just happen to be a new Great-Aunt, and have the opportunity to impart my ‘wisdom’ upon my sweet nephew and niece.  Here is what I told them, the hard stuff is easily forgotten, and the good stuff just gets better!
