Cheat Sheet: Local Non-Profits to Know

The city of Austin is privileged to have an extensive list of non-profit organizations fighting a number of issues facing our city and state. And while this is a wonderful thing, it can be overwhelming for locals to know where to get involved, which organizations to give to and what impact it’s having. Lucky for us, our city is home to a unique organization, I Live Here I Give Here (ILHIGH). In simple terms, it’s the non-profit for non-profits…and since 2007, their mission has been to inspire Central Texans to give and support the thousands of nonprofits in our region. Through programs like, Amplify Austin Day, Giving Tuesday, See Us Give, and the Board Training Program, their total impact on the nonprofit community is over $100 million and counting!

Naturally, as we were putting together our giving page for our print guide, there was no team more equipped to source recommended non-profits from than the one at ILHIGH. As their team continues to work to make Central Texas the most giving region in the nation, we hope you’ll join them.

Today—in honor of national non-profit day—we’re sharing our cheat sheet for how to give like a local in Austin, Texas!
