Volume 8 Launch Party Photo Recap

Last month we gathered together at Above ALX, the most beautiful rooftop venue in Alexandria, to celebrate the launch of Volume 8! The party theme was “Over The Top” and the guests were asked to dress in fun cocktail attire and let me tell you, these party goers served the looks! Guests were greeted at the door with a glass of champagne from the live champagne wall that read “ring for champagne”. This fun installation was created by Lucy Blossoms and sponsored by our newest member Wild Gardenia Boutique. Celeste Vee, professional electric violinist, returned for the second year in a row and welcomed our guests with her lively music. Upstairs, guests were greeted with expansive views of Alexandria as well as two bars that were sponsored by Jen Walker Team. Cedar Knoll joined us for the third year in a row to cater the party as well as staff our bars. The food and drinks were out of this world, as always! Our newest member, Casa Onofre, created the most lavish grazing table for our guests. It was almost too gorgeous to eat!

The guide was revealed through out the party on table tops, displayed on book shelves and on screen digitally as well. The pink color really made for a fun pop and kept things bright and fun. The space was scattered with bright pink florals by Petals Edge as well as disco balls and rentals by Something Vintage. Our Photo Booth was a real hit, had a very disco theme to it which was again created by Lucy Blossoms and digital photos and GIFs done by EyeObee Photobooth, who helped us for the 2nd year in a row!

Members were able to pick up their personalized copy of the guide, with calligraphy by Laura Hooper Design House. Cris Logan Art, also a new member, was doing live paintings of our guests which made for a really fun touch! The dance floor came alive thanks to Scott’s Music, his dj set got our guests dancing until the bitter end of the party. Candecent Talent also came back for a third year to entertain our guests as she did an aerial performance in a raised diamond apparatus with the gorgeous Alexandria skyline in the background.

Sunset on the rooftop was pure magic and everyone was snapping photos around the marquee letter installation done by West+Co and florals by Petals Edge. The night was truly one to remember and a wonderful celebration of the launch of Volume 8. We’re so proud to introduce you to our new members over the next few months and hope you will continue to follow along and support these wonderful small businesses.

Huge thank you to Jessica from Perfectly Picnic’d for helping us bring our “Over The Top” vision to life, she truly thought of every detail which made for the most memorable night. We also could not have thrown this party without the help of Honey & Lavender Events. Their team kept everything together and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the party run smoothly. We could not have done this without them!

Collaboration, support and working together is how communities thrive and this party is a small celebration for these people and all they do. This party is also our way of bringing people together to form friendships, business relationships and an overall love for this town we call home.
