7 Things Our Newport Beach Editor Is Loving Right Now

As advocates for small businesses, The Scout Guide editors are continually scouting their communities for local finds to share and celebrate. With their fingers on the pulse, they are also excellent sources for unique recommendations. Recently, we caught up with The Scout Guide Newport Beach editor Catherine Lowe, to find out what she’s really excited about these days. Here, she shares her current obsessions, from her favorite skincare secret to the pilates class that rocks her world.

1. what i’m coveting

Lookin’ Out My Backdoor #1 by Amy Van Winkle | “I’ve been eyeing this painting from Kennedy Contemporary. The color and texture of this piece are so stunning in person and I know it would be a complete showstopper in my home.”

2. where i’m going

Hotel Jerome in Aspen | “I can’t wait to be back in one of my all-time favorite places and hotels. Hotel Jerome is fabulous and the decor is an absolute dream. Not only am I looking forward to that amazing dining, shopping, and hiking in Aspen, but I’m also excited to join in on the celebration of the launch of The Scout Guide Aspen Volume 10.”

3. what i’m using

Thomas Grove Facial Oil | “My skin is prone to breakouts and this oil has been a game changer. It leaves my skin feeling bright and hydrated. I use it as the final step in my evening skin routine to seal in my moisturizer. I look forward to it every night.”

4. what i’m doing

Heated Reformer Pilates at Drenched OC | “The classes at Drenched OC are challenging and fun. I sleep so well when I go to the classes in the evening. It’s an added bonus that the studio is beautiful and features gorgeous ocean views—it truly doesn’t get any better.”

5. what i’m wearing

Double Stud Diamond Chain Earrings from Mama Bijoux  | “I’m currently obsessed with my ear stack from Mama Bijoux! I love to play with different earring combinations. This double stud chain is so lovely, I haven’t taken it off!

6. what i’m gifting

Backhouse Fragrances Candles and Gift Boxes | “The perfect gifts for everyone on your list. I love to bring the candles as hostess gifts, include them in gift baskets, or send them to friends across the country. Danielle hands pours them right here in Newport Beach! I always have a stash on hand and there isn’t a day that goes by where one isn’t lit in my home.”

7. what i’m decorating with

Coffee Table Books from Juxtaposition Home | “I always go to Juxtaposition Home for coffee table books. They have the best selection and it’s such an easy way to update your space. I have been collecting coffee table books for years and love looking through them for inspiration for decor, travel, and more. They also make pretty special gifts!”
