7 Things Our Hunt Country Editor Is Loving Right Now

As advocates for small businesses, The Scout Guide editors are continually scouting their communities for local finds to share and celebrate. With their fingers on the pulse, they are also excellent sources of unique recommendations. Recently, we caught up with The Scout Guide Hunt Country editor Nelina Loiselle—who just launched the ninth volume of her guide—to find out what she’s really excited about these days. Here, she shares her current obsessions, from a beautiful (and functional) market basket to a cozy-chic sweater to her locally inspired go-to gift.

French Antique Lamps from Paradise Antiques // “I’m loving all the finds at Paradise Antiques. I’ve recently been on a lighting kick and it’s hard to find a lamp I don’t love, but this French pair will be stunning flanking my modern bed. I’m also obsessed with Swedish antiques and they have an incredible collection. I especially love this Swedish antique bench.”

French Baskets and Market Bags from Crème de la Crème // “Since I didn’t get to go to France this year, I’m indulging my inner Francophile with these market bags and baskets. I love storing produce in the bag, and who doesn’t love a French market basket. So handy for stashing anything in a chic way—magazines, files, yoga props.”
3. WHERE I’M GOING
Prince Edward Island // “If you are an Anne of Green Gables fan you know why I want to go to Prince Edward Island. If not, I’ll let you in on a best kept secret: PEI is one of the most beautiful spots in the world. I head there this month to spend time exploring the white dunes and red sand beaches, scouring farmers markets, and eating the freshest seafood. I can’t wait!”

Garden Secrets of Bunny Mellon by Linda Jane Holden, Thomas Lloyd, Bryan Huffman, and P. Allen Smith // “I just bought this beautiful coffee table book. It’s by Hunt Country local author Linda Holden and all about the gardens of Mrs. Mellon, one of Hunt Country’s most legendary residents. It’s a delight for the eye as well as brimming with garden inspiration.”
5. WHAT I’M DRINKING
2016 Greenhill Wine Blanc de Blanc Reserve from Greenhill Vineyards // “This is my go-to wine. It’s delicious, not too sweet, and so good with just about anything. It’s always perfect for sipping over brunch with the girls or to make an at-home date night feel luxurious.”
6. WHAT I’M WEARING
Wild Pony Violeta Sweater from Zest Clothing // “I love this sweater, especially the color. And I admit I am a total sucker for a puff sleeve. Plus it’s so soft!”
7. WHAT I’M GIFTING
Gift Certificate to Glen Gordon Manor // “When it comes to gift giving, lately I’m really into gifting experiences. Everyone has so much stuff! I recently gave my incredible event planner a gift certificate to Glen Gordon Manor to treat her to a much deserved wine country getaway.”
