What We’re Making: Spiced Pecans with Cinnamon Whiskey Jalapeño Jelly

Jala Jala Spiced Pecans

Certain ingredients always remind us of the holiday season. While pecans, cinnamon, and whiskey have long conjured a festive, wintry vibe, this year we’re adding a new item to our list of seasonal favorites: jalapeño jelly. Produced from locally grown peppers in Huntsville, Alabama, Jala Jala’s Cinnful Whiskey Jalapeño Jelly is poised to take sweets and treats to the next level with its deliciously welcome heat. Just in time for the holidays, Jay Short, the man behind Jala Jala Foods, shares his recipe for spiced pecans, which incorporates the tasty spread; perfect for snacking, garnishing, or gifting, these are destined to become a holiday staple for years to come.

Spiced Pecans with Cinnamon Whiskey Jalapeño Jelly

Yields approximately 6 cups of spiced pecans

INGREDIENTS:

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, lightly beat the egg white and Jala Jala Jelly until foamy. Add pecans, and stir until coated. Sprinkle with the sugar mixture and mix well.

Spread the seasoned pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, checking on the pecans often to avoid burning (adjust temperature if necessary). Remove the nuts from a baking sheet and let them cool on waxed paper.
