At The Scout Guide West Texas, we in being proactive, engaged members of our communities. Inspired by these values, we’ve scouted a few of the many West Texas non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of our fellow neighbors. These scouted non-profits partners span the gamut: mental health services, children’s advocacy, housing, and more.
All of our scouted West Texas non-profits have been thoroughly vetted for their integrity, impact, and mission. In scouting these profoundly important non-profits, we hope to amplify their work, increase awareness, and, ultimately, expand their impact.
BUCKNER
Children & Families | @bucker_intl | 432.520.5588 | Buckner is a global ministry serving vulnerable children, families, and seniors. Local Bucker programs include Buckner Foster Care and Adoption, Buckner Family Pathways, and the Buckner Family Hope Center. These programs help find safe and loving homes for abused and neglected children while providing community-based preservation and early intervention services to strengthen families and reduce factors leading to neglect in the first place. Philanthropic Tennis Tournament | @servemidland | Serve Midland was founded upon a unique opportunity in the Midland tennis community to add a philanthropic component, allowing tennis players to use their love for the game of tennis as a vehicle to give back to their beloved city. CASA
Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children | @casaofwesttexas | 432.683.1114 | Court Appointed Special Advocates of West Texas (CASA) recruits, trains and supports committed volunteers who advocate for child abuse victims. When a child enters the foster care system, the judge appoints a CASA volunteer advocate for the child’s best interest. The advocate is a committed volunteer who speaks on the child’s behalf in court and in the community. Learn more…
HIGH SKY CHILDREN’S RANCH

MIDLAND FAIR HAVENS
Women & Children | @gingerbreadhaven | Midland Fair Havens is a faith-based, privately funded organization that empowers families to end cycles of abuse and poverty and discover new paths towards more sustainable futures. Designed for single mothers and their children, Midland Fair Havens provides both residential and non-residential support, such as housing, financial assistance, and parenting classes. MIDLAND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Housing | @midlandhabitatforhumanity | 432.686.8877 | Midland Habitat for Humanity (MHFH) is one of the premiere institutions responsible for constructing affordable housing. MHFH uses a rigorous qualifying process that includes progress from the application all the way through home ownership. Each participant contributes a minimum of 350 hours “sweat equity” on the worksite and completes a homeownership education program. Successful candidates are then awarded a 0% interest mortgage, making homeownership a reality for some of the neediest families. Learn more…
REFLECTION MINISTRIES
Human Trafficking Resources | Reflection Ministries strives to empower individuals who have been coerced into human trafficking and offer avenues of restoration. The organization is equipped with an emergency assessment center, second stage homes, and aftercare designed to provide healing for up to four years. The ministry works with sex trafficking survivors from across the country, and their program is designed to walk a journey of healing with sex trafficking victims long term. Learn more…
