Weave Arrived

A wonderful way to add warmth and texture to any environment, woven furnishings and wares are a combination of natural beauty, craftsmanship, and practicality that should be welcomed in any space. Case in point: the beautifully bright, rustic room captured by TSG Virginia Beach & Norfolk and TSG Richmond photographer Kip Dawkins, in which woven willow chairs add just the right amount of visual interest while simultaneously blending right in.

A gorgeous, generously proportioned basket mimics the lamp’s golden glow in this ship-themed scene shot by TSG Houston photographer Jill Hunter.

Already emanating warmth thanks to the citrusy paint color, gold framed mirror, and copper accents, firewood baskets add yet another toasty element to the fireplace scene by Washington, D.C.-based Sally Steponkus Interiors. Get the look with the Round Rush Planter or Large Seagrass Basket from Atlanta’s South of Market.

The pigeon coffee table, available from Bungalow Classic, is a whimsical use of woven materials (on wheels, no less!). A Champagne basket, available from Trouve in Phoenix, is a more traditional—though no less practical—application, perfect for storing a spare throw, extra pillows, or magazines next to a cozy sofa or your favorite armchair.

Top, an Abaco chair from Atlanta’s Bungalow Classic is a lovely marriage of straight lines and curved edges and looks oh so comfortable. Above, round baskets from South of Market are elegant storage options for just about anything, while wheeled square baskets from Eclectic home in New Orleans could easily be counted among the most useful accessories in any household.

The Avrea Wagner-designed room above is the very picture of calm played out in muted tones and natural fibers. The variations in textures add volumes of interest while the soft green palette keeps the space grounded and serene.

Sisal, seagrass, and jute rugs look at home in any room. The seagrass selection looks particularly lovely in the space by Baton Rouge-based Fireside Antiques and, like the furniture, it will stand the test of time. Woven accessories, such as the Adriatic Mirror and Alberta Drum, both available from Atlanta’s Bungalow Classic, are excellent options for when you need to add a warm accent.
