Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so I go all out on the decor. The first week of October I go to the local pumpkin supplier or even a local pumpkin patch. I select a bail of hay and about 8-10 various sized and color pumpkins. I keep in mind that after Halloween these same pumpkins will transition to fall decor for both the interior and exterior decorations. I always get 3 HUGE pumpkins and in 3 different shapes. Last year for the first time I purchased a small video projector and purchased a download of singing pumpkins ( purchased here Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree). I paired the micro video projector with my laptop and Bluetooth speakers and projected the three singing faces onto the three large pumpkins sitting on top of the bail of hay. It was such a hit! You can down load several versions. These jack-o-lanterns will tell jokes, sing, and even sleep then suddenly come alive. It’s always fun to see the kids react to the sleeping pumpkins coming to life. After Halloween I staggered the three large pumpkins on top of and setting next to the bail of hay and filled in with smaller pumpkins and ghost pumpkins as well as different colored dried corn grouped together in threes and a fall ribbon tied around the stocks. This way you get two different uses for the same pumpkins purchased. “

“I love decorating for the fall with all neutral and natural tones using various sizes of white pumpkins, pumpkins made of natural materials like woven twigs or twine, and other various textures like rope, sticks, pine cones, acorns, ect. Cutting open a white pumpkin and filling the top opening with succulents is a beautiful centerpiece that lasts all season and the succulents can be repotted after the holiday.”

“personally, I don’t love oranges and reds in my home so I tend to gravitate towards fall decor with more natural elements. I love to incorporate natural elements like dried palms and grasses into our home decor and I’ll add yellow, peach or cream florals. In addition, rattan place mats, gold flatware, warm scents (like blueberry pie or cinnamon apples) make it feel like fall in our home without going overboard.”
