Go Beyond Red And Green
Dec 8, 2014Design & DecorTSG Tip
While we adore tradition, as we put the finishing touches on our holiday décor this year we’ll be skipping the standard red-and-green combination in favor of a fresh (yet no less festive!) holiday palette. From tree-trimming to mantel-composing to wreaths, bows, and garlands galore, here’s how we’ll be working alternative colors into our homes this holiday season:
- Having an abundance of green in your home this time of year is a given, so we need to infuse some brightness into our décor to keep it from feeling too heavy.
- You can never go wrong if you lead with sparkle. Pull out crystal and silver pieces and throw eucalyptus or your favorite wintery florals inside.
- Light, fresh colors like chartreuse, pale blue, orange, and metallics pair very well with greenery and look right at home in a holiday tablescape.
- Pick a color theme for your tree and wreaths to make your holiday décor feel cohesive. That said….
- Don’t be predictable. Change up your color choices every year and you’ll always feel inspired.
