Perfectly Polished: Six Summer Shades

Nail maintenance is always a must, but in the summertime having beautifully done fingers and toes takes on even greater importance. While almost everyone enjoys a good mani/pedi session, selecting colors can sometimes feel overwhelming. To help with that part of the process, we’ve rounded up a list of TSG HQ’s favorite hues:

• The perfect neutral: TSG co-founder Susie Matheson favors “Bubble Bath” by OPI. Editor relations manager Bryant Taylor seconds this selection— “It looks good with everything!”—while co-founder Christy Ford recommends Essie’s “Ballet Slippers” (“It’s my mom’s favorite,” she says.)

• Colorful classics: Heather Sieg, editor of TSG Charlottesville, sticks with bolder hues that stand the test of time, including OPI’s “Big Apple Red.” Meanwhile, graphic designer Austin Alley prefers Revlon’s “Fearless,” a lovely and sophisticated shade of crimson, and design and production manager Kate Colfelt enjoys OPI’s “Aloha,” a pretty coral-tinged red, on her toes.

• Can’t-go-wrong greige: More adventurous than a subtle neutral but far from a show-stopping red, greige is a great go-to color. Editorial director Emily Westlake is a fan of Essie’s “Miss Fancy Pants” thanks to its versatility.
