The Scouted Calendar - November 2018

Between fall festivities and the busy holiday season closing in, there are a variety of exciting events happening in our communities in the coming weeks, providing countless opportunities to discover something new in your own hometown or while enjoying a weekend escape. From a Dior exhibit in Denver to a tropical garden festival in Miami, here’s what we’re looking forward to next month.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Collectors will want to mark their calendars for Sunday, November 4, when Rigsby Frederick Salon & Gallery will host an art show and reception from 4 to 7 p.m. (early birds can attend an exclusive preview at 3). The show will feature works by local artists showcasing sculptures, photographs and works on canvas. {Find local recommendations for what to do and see in Baton Rouge here.}

Charlotte, North Carolina

A glamorous event benefitting a great cause, the Young Affiliates of the Mint’s Annual Fall Ball, Mint Main Event, will take place at the Mint Museum Uptown on November 3. All proceeds from the black-tie, old Hollywood-themed gala go toward funding access to the arts and free museum tours for local CMS students. {Find local recommendations for what to do and see in Charlotte here.}

Charlottesville, Virginia

Open until January 27, 2019, The Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia presents Unexpected O’Keefe: The Virginia Watercolors and Later Paintings. The exhibition features the artist’s watercolor studies produced during O’Keefe’s time at UVA during the summers from 1912 to 1916—the first time these works have been on view outside the Georgia O’Keefe museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. {Find local recommendations for what to do and see in Charlottesville here.}
