They have a strong passion for believing that anything is possible for their clients. Working with the best of intentions and having strong convictions throughout the process with each client is something they have built a well respected reputation on.

We wanted to get to know the team members a bit more and showcase what they enjoy most about living locally within each of their communities, where they also have a primary focus on the real estate market. This month we met with realtor Nina Furia, who resides in Jenkintown – a community that has most recently spiked in real estate sales and has had quite a resurgence in this last year. As many are getting outbid or simply can’t find their dream homes in Philadelphia or the Main Line, we’re seeing a lot of value and beauty in this beautiful community that provides a wide variety of stunning properties. So we asked Nina what some of her favorite elements are about living in Jenkintown, and this is what she had to say…

We love our food here at The Scout Guide, what is your favorite place to eat in Jenkintown?

One of my favorite spots, not only in my area but anywhere, is Lilly’s. Lilly’s cooks up some of the best and most authentic Indian cuisine around! The food is unreal and you can taste the love the owner dedicates to his mother and her recipes.

Every community needs a good coffee shop. What is your go-to coffee shop?

Whitehorse Coffee roasts their own beans in their super cool sustainable shop. The owners are a delight and bring such a warmth to the community. They have created a hub in Jenkintown where many locals gather to meet and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation together.

A key element when looking into a town to live in is community engagement and events. What exciting community events should we know about in Jenkintown that occur throughout the year?

Abington Art Center does the best free outdoor concert series on the grounds of the amazing Avelthorpe Manor during the summer – think food, beer and wine trucks, picnic blankets and families. Jenkintown Arts Festival is the largest outdoor fest in Montgomery County, and the town transforms into an outdoor art gallery with vendors, food trucks and kids’ activities – we look forward to it every year! Keswick Village does a wonderful Fall Fest with music, crafts, food and fun for the whole family. It’s a wonderful opportunity to dip in and out of the restaurants and shops.

What makes the Jenkintown/Abington area a special place to consider living in?

We have everything you could ask for: shops, restaurants, community, family events, amazing architecture and homes, wonderful schools, kind people. I feel so lucky to raise my family here!

The real estate market is super hot these days in this portion of the Philadelphia suburbs. From a statistical perspective what’s the increase in home prices in Jenkintown/Abington?

Our area prices are up 12% on average. I’m so happy to show people everything all our neighborhoods have to offer, and the incredible value of the homes here. It really is still a hidden gem, for now!

If you are searching for your next dream home and community, we would suggest looking into this area that has so much to offer. Call Nina Furia, who has become the key realtor of the Jenkintown/Abington region, and set up an appointment to discuss your options and schedule some viewings this season!
