ABOUT TSG NORTH GEORGIA EDITOR/OWNER BRE BARDENWERPER:
A native to the North Georgia Mountains, Bre graduated with a degree from The University of North Georgia, and began working with various small businesses soon after. This helped foster her passion for local businesses and the people behind them.
After living and working in various parts of North Georgia, Bre opened her own home décor and gift boutique in the town where she grew up. As a small business owner herself, advocating for local businesses and supporting the communities that make up North Georgia has become even more of a passion. Bre hopes to use her eye for design and experiences with small businesses to create a beautiful guide that represents North Georgia’s local life, year after year.
When not working, Bre can be found spending time with her husband, Mitch, and kids, Landon and Lennon Kate. Bre also enjoys shopping local, interior design, and drinking coffee on her front porch.
As Editor of The Scout Guide North Georgia, Bre encourages celebrating local businesses and highlighting the faces and places that make North Georgia truly unique.
BRE’S THREE FAVORITE REASONS TO VISIT NORTH GEORGIA:
- The small town charm. “Each town has its own unique downtown district with specialty shops and delicious restaurants. Try visiting all the ‘town squares’ for a truly unforgettable day of small town charm and unparalleled southern hospitality.”
- The opportunities for outdoor adventures. “Whether you are looking for a simple, quiet adventure or a complete adrenaline rush, you’ll find it nestled in the North Georgia Mountains. With activities like hiking, fishing, zip-lining, tubing, camping, and so much more, you’ll never want to leave.”
- The southern cuisine. “From spectacular BBQ joints and farm-to-table eateries, to lakeside restaurants and high-end cuisine, the food scene in North Georgia not only evokes Southern tradition, but creative and memorable experiences.”
WORDS BRE LIVES BY:
She gave her all and did her best,
And not to impress others
Or to meet someone’s definition of success,
But because she knew God was watching her,
And would honor her faithfulness.
