Scenes from The Scout Guide Newport Beach Volume 1 Launch Party
Both the culmination of nearly a year’s worth of scouting and the launch of a new — and in this case, inaugural — volume, a Scout Guide launch party is a must-attend annual event. For The Scout Guide’s first-ever West Coast launch we hoped to set the tone by tapping Newport Beach and Orange County’s best to help us throw a celebratory soiree. They delivered. Here, we relive the evening, recapping finer details our members and Scouted Partners helped us to create for our guests, fellow Volume 1 members and a few of our nearest and dearest.
Volume 1 members joined us on the Sunset Lawn at VEA Newport Beach for cocktails and champagne to christen Volume 1. VEA’s Sunset Lawn offered expansive views which were well-complemented by Urban Gardener’s extravagant and delightful florals: marigolds, ranunculus, roses, carnations, and tulips in brilliant shades of coral and orange that paired perfectly with the Newport neutral hues of Volume 1 cover colors.
Guests were greeted by a stunning Urban Gardener centerpiece, which also featured members’ first look at Volume 1. Past the entrance guests found a fully stocked bar boasting local favorites and signature cocktail, The California Margarita. Drinks in hand, guests were invited to peruse an equally thrilling, if less boozy, bar of books – a standard and beloved feature at nearly every Scout Guide party.
In addition to picking up complimentary guides, guests were treated to a personalized copy courtesy of gold foil hand lettering by Whitney Forbes of The Haute Press. The devil is in the details, especially when it comes to hosting a party. In that same vein we brought quintessentially Newport Beach elements into vignettes to create memorable moments and takeaways: peep rattan bar menu, the vintage sailboat model, and the matchbooks.
For a decidedly Newport Beach feel, we tapped members and scouted local partners for every aspect of the event. Where’s The Party? designed beautiful invitations; Found Rental Co. created a delightful ambiance with furniture rentals, from the book bar to lounge areas; local musician, John Scott Evans, provided live entertainment; and The Cloud Cart Co. whipped up the perfect sweets moment. After an evening of mixing, mingling, and celebrating our members, guests left with a gift bag designed by Blue Atlas Marketplace in tow.
Thank you to our inaugural members for their support of and enthusiasm for The Scout Guide Newport Beach’s mission. It was incredible to bring our community’s inspiring entrepreneurs, makers, and creatives together. And thank you Jonathan Nimerfroh for capturing our evening.
