Shrimp Mousse Recipe for the Holidays

Shrimp mousse has been a staple at Taylor’s Carrère family Thanksgiving for decades.

1 1/2 tablespoons gelatin

1 can tomato soup

2 large cream cheese

2/3 cup mayonnaise (try 1/2 cup)

3/4 cup finely chopped celery

1/4 cup grated onion

3 cups cooked shrimp, chopped

Dissolve gelatin in 1/2 cup of cold water.

Bring undiluted soup to scalding in top of double boiler.

Break cream cheese into small pieces and add to soup. Add gelatin and mayonnaise. Let cool for 5 minutes.

Add celery, onion, and shrimp. Season to taste with Tabasco and Lea & Perrins.

Pour into well-oiled mold.

Refrigerate overnight.
