Bachman’s Floral, Home & Garden has been delighting its customers with trusted family-led horticultural-related products and services since 1885. You probably remember visiting one as a kid, flip flops flopping with the smell of all things summer in your nose. Or that first day of real warmth in the spring, loading up your family and deciding how you’re going to fill your window boxes this year. But how well do you know Bachman’s story and how it came to be a favorite of so many? Bachman’s, a Minneapolis-based company, began as a family-owned vegetable farm turned flower shop and has since found themselves a trusted name in the industry, growing everything with love at their 700-acre farm in Farmington, MN; right in our backyard. If you want to start your lawn from scratch, spiff up your yard, or learn more about proper lawn care and maintenance, Bachman’s talented team is all ears (and green thumbs). They have everything you need for a healthy lawn—from soil and mulch to lawn and gardening tools, weed controls, organic solutions, grass seed, and even lawn repair. They also pride themselves on being a trusted partner in designing you a fresh new landscape and the ones you turn to when you’re ready for the hot new trend of an interior live wall in your entryway.
Sustainability
It’s extremely important to Bachman’s to have an eco-friendly presence and reduce their environmental impact; just another reason to love them, if you don’t already. They offer a variety of sustainable products, such as organic fertilizers, rain barrels, and compost bins, and they have implemented energy-saving measures, such as Bachman’s Eco Effort, in their stores and greenhouses. This initiative serves plants more efficiently, conserves water, reduces their carbon emissions and lessens their use of pesticides and fertilizers. Building a better, more beautiful planet one seed at a time.
Community
Bachman’s generous light shines through the support they show to the community. They are involved in various charitable causes and events, such as the annual Plant a Seed program, which provides free gardening kits to children in underserved communities. Holiday Ideas & Inspiration for the Home Self-Guided Tour
The “Idea House” on display at their Lyndale store, is a self-guided tour that includes all the inspiration you’ll need for a season (and home) full of festive fun. Gorgeous rooms and decorative tableaus will celebrate all that glitters and grows. Twenty percent of ticket sales will go to Hats & Mittens of Minnesota which keeps families warm all season long. Holiday magic and inspiration awaits!
Santa and his hard-working elf Albert will be arriving at their Lyndale store on Saturday, November 18th at 9:30 am in shimmering style a la a vintage fire truck transported straight from the North Pole! After their grand entrance, enjoy your favorite Christmas tunes while the kids do a holiday craft. Get up close and personal with a reindeer all while indulging in hot cocoa and cookies that Mrs. Clause baked herself. Bring your camera for photo ops. Did we mention there will be a holiday play and sing-a-long as well? This event will feel like a page out of a Christmas fairy tale. You don’t want to miss it!

Sign up for a Cookie Decorating Class with Garty Goodies! You’ll bring home your decorated goodies and a 4” Bachman’s-grown blooming plant. The Grinch is also paying Bachman’s on Lyndale a visit this season. Right off the stage from his performance at The Children’s Theatre Company the Grinch promises to be on his best behavior while he visits and takes photos with the kids.
