EDITOR PROFILE // As we celebrate the launch of The Scout Guide Orlando, Volume 1, we asked TSG Orlando editor Jaleh Benner a few questions to get to know her better.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I’m originally from Normal, Illinois, and I spent my adulthood in Columbus, Ohio, before coming to Orlando, Florida.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE ORLANDO AREA?
The diversity and how each pocket of Orlando is different.
HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH TSG?
I followed and loved TSG Columbus and many of my favorite local businesses were part of the TSG family. My background is print, and when we moved to Orlando I knew we had to make TSG Orlando a reality!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING AN EDITOR?
Getting to meet the amazing business owners in Orlando and to share the collective of amazing small businesses in our community!
WHAT IS PARTICULARLY UNIQUE ABOUT THIS VOLUME?
It is the first in Orlando, and such a unique blend!
WHAT ARE THREE FUN FACTS ABOUT YOU?
I speak Farsi and lived in Iran (where my family is from) for several years as a child.
I’m surviving the terrible twos with tiny Scout who is the biggest TSG Orlando and small business advocate.
I love antiques!
