ABOUT TSG HILL COUNTRY EDITOR FRANCIE MANNIX:
Francie Mannix grew up in a military family so travel was a part of her childhood, but San Antonio is home. Her mother’s family has San Antonio roots and Francie attended high school there before attending college up North at Wheaton and Williams Colleges, where she studied art history. From there, she worked at Sotheby’s Auction House, Sotheby’s International Realty, and Town and Country magazine in New York. After 13 years in New York and Dallas, she moved back to San Antonio with her husband and three children.
Francie, who has her own antiques/accessories business, started TSG San Antonio and TSG Hill Country because she wanted everyone to see how unique those areas are. Her favorite aspects about being an Editor are combining her creative business skills through editorial and visual content, and working with businesses on the sales side. She loves meeting new people, finding independent businesses, and sharing the story of how the businesses were started. She also loves to see how these businesses regenerate so many undiscovered areas and old buildings in their changing cities.
When Francie is not working, she likes to spend time with her kids, family, and friends. She loves to entertain, and for a creative outlet, Francie enjoys art and floral design. When she’s not in Texas Hill Country, Francie will escape the heat to Newport, RI, or go skiing in Colorado.
