About Katy Ganaway

Woman in blue dress at radio station, The Scout Guide to broadcasting.

At WLRH, Katy Ganaway wears many hats—mainly hosting All Things Considered, Morning Edition every Friday, and producing an original WLRH program, Arts Underground. On the WLRH airwaves, you may have heard her interviews and feature stories, investigating various aspects of the human experience, including art, health, history, education, and unique perspectives in creativity in the Tennessee Valley. She was also recently promoted to the position of News Director and Program Director, previously having served as a Radio Program Producer.

Her goal is to give a major platform to the voices of the members of our community who are doing wonderful things and giving back. That may be inviting local historians to share a new, golden nugget of north Alabama history, or spotlighting the incredibly talented folks in Huntsville’s local comedy and music scenes.

Katy graduated in 2014 from Troy University, earning her Bachelor’s in Journalism and her minor in Public Relations. In her time studying at Troy, she interned as a student producer for Troy Public Radio, where she began to hone her craft… and ate plenty of breakfast burritos live hosting the weekend news programs. Prior to that, she worked in commercial radio, and prior to *that,* she graduated from Bob Jones High School in 2010!

Thank you so much Katie for sharing your literal voice with Huntsville! We loved hearing your story and cannot wait to hear more. Give WLRH a follow to hear more about her programs
