Top 10 new things to see, do, and taste at Lowe Mill

If you haven’t been able to visit Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment in the last year, you’re in for a treat! You might notice a few changes throughout the building, with fantastic new artists, makers, restaurants, and independent businesses joining the community almost weekly. Featuring everything from handmade candles to vegan cafes, Lowe Mill A&E remains a wonderful spot to support local artists and businesses and keep creativity alive in the community. Here are just a few of the newest finds that we simply had to share!

1. Grab a coffee and a pastry from Dragon’s Forge Cafe (Studio 2073)

2. Check out Carolyn Wass’s super spooky pottery! (Studio 2007)

3. Get a custom hand-sew mask by Arcanea Studios! (Studio 2050)

4. Check our Norman Suhs’s amazing hand-carved birds. (Studio 1059)

5. Watch Juliana Maddox craft her beautiful abstract paintings. (Studio 2046)

6. Take a look at Sheena Setayesh’s latest mural. (Studio 254)

7. Play a pinball machine at Starlight Arcade! (Studio 1022)

8. See Stephanie Flier pull her beautiful floral prints. (Studio 313)

9. Find a new signature scent for your home at Embrace Candles. (Studio 122)

1. Grab a coffee and a pastry from Dragon’s Forge Cafe. (Studio 2073)

Dragon’s Forge Cafe is the Mill’s newest coffee shop. Decorated to look like an old castle, Dragon’s Forge has fantasy-themed drinks, food, and more that are full of charm and whimsy. 

2. Check out Carolyn Wass’s super spooky pottery! (Studio 2007)

Fans of Halloween and horror movies will LOVE Carolyn Wass’s work. With everything from shot glasses, bowls, mugs, and butter dishes, you’re sure to find a piece of Carolyn’s that is both scary AND functional! 

3. Get a custom hand-sewn mask by Arcanea Studios! (Studio 2050)

Once you walk into Joie Hall’s studio, you’ll see tables full of unique and fun fabric! Give her ten minutes, and Joie can make a custom face covering for you that will fit perfectly. (And she can even add metal studs!) 

4. Check out Norman Suhs’s amazing hand-carved birds. (Studio 1059)

You might do a double-take when you walk by Norman Suhs’s studio. His beautiful hand-carved wooden bird sculptures are incredibly lifelike and must be seen in person. Norman has spent the last twenty years perfecting his work and it truly shows! 

5. Watch Juliana Maddox craft her beautiful abstract paintings. (Studio 2046)

Juliana Maddox is one of the newest artists on the second floor, and her talents are endless. Juliana is a painter, a charcoal and pencil artist, a graphic designer, a 3D animator, a pianist, a singer, a seamstress, and a photographer. Check out the current paintings she’s working on in Studio 2046!

6. Take a look at Sheena Setayesh’s latest mural. (Studio 254)

One of the Lowe Mill’s newest painters, Sheena Setayesh, decided to install her own mural right outside her studio! Take a look at her beautiful mural on the second floor of the south building, and check out her amazing portraits and nature-inspired work in her studios! 

7. Play a pinball machine at Starlight Arcade. (Studio 1022)

If you’ve been to the Mill the last year and a half, you might have seen Hale Electronics, a pinball repair studio. The wonderful crew behind Hale has decided to expand into a bigger studio and open an arcade featuring the machines they helped work on! Come play a game at Starlight Arcade right inside Door 4! 

8. See Stephanie Flier pull her beautiful floral prints (Studio 313)

Taking a step into Stephanie Flier’s studio feels like walking into a beautiful garden. Stephanie is a master of amazing relief prints, featuring incredible designs inspired by nature and florals. She has a vast array of prints available for purchase that brighten up any room they’re displayed in! 

9. Find a new signature scent for your home at Embrace Candles. (Studio 122)

One of the newest studios to open at the Mill, Embrace Candles’ mission is simple: to create products that empower the ability to change the feeling of a room. We could spend HOURS smelling all of the wonderful scents Gabe and Sara have created, and with scents from white tea and roses to fairy magic, you’re bound to find the perfect candle to bring into your home.

10. Try a scrumptious vegan dish from The Veggie! (Railroad Room 5)

The Veggie is the newest eatery taking the Mill by storm! The Veggie’s meals are 100% plant-based and served in compostable packaging. With dishes like the Philly Cheese Patty Melt, the Smoky Impossible Bowl, and BBQ Jackfruit Wrap, you’re bound to leave full and happy after a visit to their Quick Service Cafe.
